  1. As Goodrich is 3-form entry it might be more likely to have spaces in reception as well as higher up school. Am biased as daughter is there, but she loves it and is doing really well. TBH most local schools are pretty good, but all catchment areas (on paper at least) for the early years/reception are pretty small. As said earlier there's plenty of movement. Also worth considering with Dulwich Infants that application to the junior school is a separate thing so if your son is in yr 2 he'd be moving schools at beginning of yr 3, if you got a place there... One of the few schools locally where this is necessary (I think). Feel free to DM if any questions about Goodrich.
  2. At Goodrich we charge ?10/table and people keep all their takings, and charge 50p entry for shoppers
  3. Search for "holiday clubs" on here will bring up some suggestions - we've used Scamps and Fit for Sport and both have been good, there's also one which Gumboots runs.
  4. Wellies and waterproofs, towels on radiator at home, then go out and run around, get soaking, come home, change into warm dry clothes, drink hot chocolate, watch Christmas film?
  5. Well done to you for organising - they'll have had a great day because of you and all your hard work! Happy Christmas
  6. Probably not. At that age I'd probably go with a childminder - more relaxed atmosphere for a little one...
  7. Childminders rates tend to be about ?5-6/hour I think.
  8. Definitely fill all 6 slots, even with schools you haven't a hope of getting into, otherwise the council can allocate you any school on the basis that they couldn't meet any of your preferences. If you have stipulated 6 choices you're in a better position than if you left any empty. Sounds ridiculous but true...
  9. No, the one by the hospice shop is Kelvin, who is lovely! Has a dog but doesn't bring him with him when selling. Also never seen anybody selling outside Londis!
  10. Also bowling at Elephant and Castle in the shopping centre. Have parked for free on the road the bowling is on in Lewisham before, but usually at weekends and not sure what the restrictions are...
  11. Updated admissions tours for Goodrich http://www.goodrich.org.uk/Admissions
  12. Updated list from Goodrich http://www.goodrich.org.uk/Admissions
  13. Used ours a lot when husband was working at home with daughter - filled with toys and books she was quite happy in there, in same room as him, but is quite a self-contained child which helps, I think...
  14. ten pin bowling? http://www.amfbowling.co.uk/ entertaining and fairly cheap I think!
  15. Harris girls also do bouncy castle and running around, separate room for food.
  16. One of my favourite things as daughter gets older is both rediscovering old books with her which I loved when I was her age (Malory Towers, The Swish of the Curtain), but also discovering new books together. She came and presented me with "The boy in the dress" by David Walliams a couple of weeks ago, and said "Mummy, I think you should read this - you'll like it". Moment of huge maternal pride, as my mum and I do that with each other all the time. So I did read it, and I did like it, and she was so pleased that she could make that recommendation to me. From that list, have enjoyed Truckers (even though never read any Pratchett in my life, much to husband's disgust) and Wolves of Willoughby Chase - first of a fantastically exciting series of books. Hooray for books...
  17. Plus makes it easier if you know local families from the point of view of going to play etc - I'd probably move her, at that age...
  18. try the Bridge in Sydenham - near the big Sainsbury's - they have parking and a nice little pool. Also free for little one if you have a Lewisham library card - just apply at any library in Lewisham, don't have to live in that borough
  19. They are a pain to store!! Daughter loves hers, I could live without it...
  20. Cheese on toast with slices of tomato under the cheese (can call it "pizza" if that makes it more appealing? Beans on toast, scrambled eggs on toast (can also add chopped tomato or pepper, or chopped chorizo/ham/bacon to this if needs a bit of variety) - all easy to do quickly when they're hungry...
  21. I think Pickle makes them - try DM-ing her.
  22. You can shop online via them at http://www.hive.co.uk/shop/herne-hill/tales-on-moon-lane/ - will help to support the business while they're undergoing the refit. This is a pretty good service - postage reasonable and delivery within about 3 days - and I think really good to not divert business to Amazon!
  23. Try Musico South - we've been having lessons with them for about 6 months and found a great teacher who our daughter loves, and he comes to our house before school for the lesson! http://www.learnwithmusico.com/
  24. Wednesday - Tues is inset day!
  25. Also cheaper if you book in advance online, and you don't have to queue to get in. Definitely worth a visit
