  3. May be better to try and moderate drinking always (or mostly) rather than not drink at all for just one month of the year? Or have a couple of dry days a week, a bit like the 5:2 diet?
  4. Was that the reason? They had quite a bit of competition locally, with the florist by the roundabout and one on North Cross Road, and now M&S also selling cut flowers (whose quality in my experience is better than some of Bonnie's was, unfortunately).

You should not have to "just put up with it".

Thanks all! Is the Sainsbury's recycling just for their own bags? I rarely shop there any more.

Is there any local supermarket (or other) which recycles other shops' plastic bags? I use my own bags for shopping but I get delivered shopping in bags. I normally reuse them for various things eg as bin bags, but I've accumulated a huge amount over the last few weeks and I'd like to recycle them somewhere.
  14. If memory serves, it didn't have anything outside to indicate what was being sold inside, let alone prices. You would think letting potential customers know what you did and what to expect would be pretty crucial for a business!

Agree with Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies, though I didn't think I liked historical novels. And almost anything by Terry Pratchett - both wise and funny!
  16. I was never quite sure what it was. Shop? Restaurant? Takeaway? Maybe that was part of its problem?

Back to normal last night though ..... The Ivy House was open for two hours on Christmas Day and was absolutely rammed :)
