I only read this thread as I am a > Dog-Lover!..lol xxxxxx I too only read this thread in the first place as I am a dog-lover :)) I don't think this is anything to do with male-female patterns, T.L.S., so don't let's get into all that again, lol :)) I think it's about sense of humour incompatibility :-S Relieved to hear from others that I hadn't been over the top, however, as I was feeling a bit battered :)) Oh and yes, use the ******* key that makes paragraphs, PLEASE, your posts are virtually impossible to read!! HINT - it's that big one on the right of the keyboard with a little left-pointing arrow on, probably beneath the backspace key :)) Edited to say: You have to use the big key TWICE so that you have a space between the paragraphs, rofl :)) -
Sounds brilliant :)

Hey that sounds really interesting, where do you live Huguenot? But guess I've missed it for this year :-S

Was supposed to be live music there last night but the guy was sick and it was cancelled :(

We went there last night for a meal. The crab was excellent as were the steak and mushroom pie and Caesar salad (the salad was a zillion times better than Liquorish's version .....) Wine also excellent. If I was being picky, the chocolate brownie was slightly dry - I like them really moist in the middle. Liked the music choice (Beatles to Willy Mason via Leonard Cohen :)) ) but it was on a loop, so when the tracks came round for the second time we figured it was time we were going - not a great idea if you want to keep your punters in there as long as possible! Was sadly empty for a Saturday night though (though we did get there early to be sure of a table in the back room, then moved to a sofa once we had eaten .....but was still far from busy when we left, tennish ....) But we'll be back!

Brilliant idea - links please !!

Was it just me, or was the noise particularly bad this morning? Seemed like a load of very loud planes, very close together and very low. And once they'd woken me up, I couldn't get back to sleep again .... :(

There seem to be gas mains being replaced all over London. My theory is that it's related to a fairly recent gas explosion in a house which killed a guy, and which I think was due to a leaking gas main. Not long ago, you could smell gas in various streets around London. I guess they don't want a repetition (and don't want to have to pay out loads of dosh in compensation to the grieving relatives?) Just a guess ....

Maybe we shouldn't wish for a Waitrose in place of our Somerfield...

Is my grammar right there? I fear not :) -
Loz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Surely Somerfields mission statement should read > something like > > "Our business associates in Canada and India > appreciate your generous donations" > > And if you don't like it, we'll kick the crap out > of you. xxxxxx :)):)):))

Hey Keef, if you hate your job, why don't you write a job description for your ideal job, then write your CV around it (if you see what I mean), then send the CV to any organisation/person who might be recruiting for your ideal job? Just an idea :) Many jobs aren't filled by advertising them, unfair as that may be.

mikese22 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > has anyone actually spoken to Somerfield? > > If their head office PR department knew about this > debate they'd be horrified I'm sure xxxxxx Somerfield do know about the debate. Their head office issued a statement which I believe is posted earlier on this thread. They sent it to admin.

I have an MA in psychology, shall I analyse your response? :)):)) Ooops sorry, perhaps I should have PMed you.

Went there last night for the first time, and had a bar snack. The thick-cut chips were excellent, but I was rather taken aback by the very small portion for ?3. I was slightly disappointed by the atmosphere - found the lighting too harsh (and the tealights didn't come out till very late on in the evening ..... though the harsh lighting remained) - whole place felt a bit bare and "cold" (not temperature wise) - hopefully they will have some lovely real fires in the Winter which will make it seem more cosy. Do agree it's the best of the recent incarnations, and the wine was good (comes from Green and Blue apparently) though not much choice by the glass.

Rabbler Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > When, oh when will East dulwich finally get a > working class chain pub with decent prices & > affordable food? > I don't suppose anyone from Wetherspoons reads > this do they? xxxxxx There's a Wetherspoons just down the road in Forest Hill ..... And isn't there one in Peckham?

Shame, it clashes with the Goose's free folk night at Hoopers - would have liked to have come to the Duke, too, as haven't been down there to see its latest incarnation ..... See you all in October :)

Thanks for the explanation Tropica, I feel a bit better about the palm now :) And at least we didn't get council-chosen sculpture ......

What was the tree on the public consultation document, macroban? I can't remember (though I'm sure I would have commented on it in my response if it had been a palm tree!)
