Try doing that and landing on a lake!
  2. You've put me right of me kebab!
  3. No, Asset is right about the Dog. The service is average at best and the staff turnover makes a career in Northern Rock look like a job for life. However, it does have a certain charm. Don't even begin to mention their Sunday Roast. Blue Mountain is also well over rated and the best alternative in ED (IMO) is Jacks, when it's open. Honest good food and straight up service.
  4. I wonder how Gordon Brown would fare in The Apprentice? His handling of the 10p tax rate reminds me of Simon as project leader last week.
  5. Did I mention the prosthetic . . . . . .
  6. How much is the EDF discount?
  7. Tis not a myth. There have been many English dragons. http://image.guardian.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/gallery/2005/03/23/MargaretThatcher.jpg

  9. Pull the other one!
  10. It's sickening that any toddler is attacked because a dog owner can't control their pet. I hope that your child makes a full recovery, though I fear she will always bear the mental scars. I don't understand either why the dog has not been put down. There seemed to be enough people that witnessed the incident. Have the police given a reason? Is there anything further that can be done to get this dog of our streets?
  11. KK I have to disagree with your sweeping statement there. You're just as likely to encounter bad/indifferent service in the village as you would down the lane. The lady in question in Au Ciel is always a bit off, but the comedy value keeps me going back as generally the rest of the staff and the cakes, chocolate, coffee are superb. In all the other places I've always experienced friendly service (especially Panin d'Oro). You may be getting confused with some of the natives who can be a bit stuck up, especially when a chav like me is holding up the queue.
  12. She used to dance on the West End stage in various ALW productions. Unfortunately she's not able to anymore, has since turned to drugs and her 2 young children taken into care after her husband left her for the midwife.

  14. Makes complete sense to me. Question: How does this work? If a supporter of a certain team can only hate other teams regardless, then how does it work when it comes to the national side which may well contain players from the hated team(s)? Would said supporter only partially support the national team or not at all?
  15. I jest. Perhaps this would suit better, sir. http://www.circusentertainers.co.uk/Images/Medieval/Jester-Fire-Eater.jpg
  16. I used to think that, but then did actually get sued because an employee fell down an open trap door behind the bar (even though she'd been warned and shouldn't have been drinking).
  17. I know what you mean and for my penny's worth I totally agree with you. I'm often put off from posting here because it feels like walking into a full on fracas on the terraces. I like a bit of banter but I prefer not to get dragged into pointless abusive arguments over ones team when in fact we all enjoy the same game from a different perspective. I wouldn't accept somebody having a personal go at me because of my race so nor would I accept it just because I'm a 'Chavski' supporter!
  18. Good idea cdonline. I haven't pee-ed or puked down there in ages but this could be a nice little earner. Especially if the bollards aren't lit up, no visible sign is posted and a barman waving a red flag isn't standing close by. Thanks for the tip off bawdy-nan.
  19. I predict you will be wrong. Sorry Annasfield and Keef, but it will be 'Fortress' Stamford Bridge next week and hopefully riding high on the back of a win this weekend.
  20. On a serious point. I did notice Goose Green looking a bit forlorn and naked today seeing as in medieval times there'd have been much frolicking and sheep grazing on this day. Perhaps we should organise something and make it bit of money for charity? Keef . . . the sheep?
  21. Strawbs just don't get your directions mixed up and end up in West Dulwich. They're a bit strange over there - just ask Paleproctologist.
  22. Ah Mockney, that must be the Damsels in distress bit. Could you recruit for next year please. Jah you're in charge of the beer and Brendan the BBQ. Sean were you just jousting?
  23. My sister sends you birthday greetings and may your beans taste good in the morning.
  24. So to answer my question, there is no point to St Georges Day because the English missed a good marketing opportunity. It does seem to stir up a few emotions though (and not just from the English) perhaps because the likes of the BNP/NF have stepped in and hijacked the flag as a symbol of hate, which is probably why there's a ban in your office. I'd like to see a proper (non political) celebration of St.Georges Day. Lot's of English brewed real ale, fat pork sausages on the BBQ and jousting on Goose Green. Happy St Georges Day Took this in Woolacombe a few years ago (unfortunately a photographer from the Sun pipped me to it).
