  16. I find the evening rush hour the worse. Coming back to ED is certainly more stressing than leaving (no need for the usual grumpy so and so moaners to comment on ED as an area in relevance to this comment ta). Buses are certainly even worse (altho more frequent) and it's often a fight to get through all the silly city ppls bags, cases and bodies. What is it wiv ppl who insist on standing right by the doors but make no effort wotsoever to move when ppl try to get off the bus? Many a time getting off at the next stop and walking back on oneself has been a safer option... The general attitude of passengers seems different... come on we're all trying to get home! <--- does that sound familiar of a morning when we're all "trying to get to work"? *stopping rambling now*
  17. The Tamils... come on enuff is enuff I'm quite fed up with the helicopter circling above me head hum humming away and the traffic diversions... wot ever happened to you can't go round them go thru them! grrrrr *annoyed enuff to start txt spk*

  20. Seems to me this is just a typical unproductive response from a "manager" who doesn't get their hands dirty and therefore has no idea what really goes on in the shop and of course issues raised couldn't possibly be happening in a shop that follows rules and guidelines by the book. Or is it a case as "Deputy Manager" David is not in a proper position to comment and so is just saying what should be said - what he thinks we want to hear? It's easy to blame customers for not putting things back (funny how out of date products make their way back to the shelves if they weren't there in the first place as this manager suggests). It's easy to blame the customer for being able to read special offers in the correct way and ignore the fact it's the shops fault for mislabelling or failing to remove past offers. It's easy to blame staff for obviously interfering with scanned prices or not being trained properly. Who's fault is that? Surely management not the customer ;-) It couldn't possibly be Sainsbury's fault. It doesn't even happen does it? Does it? I'd like to live in David's bubble.
  21. really? Now I apologise in advance from sliding away slightly from this thread subject... a few friends and myself were once in a discussion over feeling safe in a neighbourhood and the general feel was that we'd feel quite comfortable walking round an area, for example, like Brixton late at night, by oneself, compared to somewhere in East Sussex. Mentally prepared or expectant perhaps and so more on guard but surely the general rule is to always be alert when out and about no matter what time of day/night. Crime happens everywhere. It doesn't make a place less safer than another. It's a shame when it becomes a regular occurence but such is life. This kind of thing wakes you up (if you needed to be rescued from your heavy slumber)
