Introducing a "record" shop into the area surely is no more challenging then yet another eatery, estate agents, hairdressers etc. It's always going to be dog eat dog in the world of retail. For my own selfish interests I personally would love to have an instrument repair shop in the area. Not necessarily on this site but somewhere on the Lane.
That could be said about work in general though. I'm sure none of us, in an ideal world, would really want to work but we all have bills to pay, mouths to feed and all that. Why is making money from something that is yours to give wrong?
There used to be a lingerie shop where the butchers now are. I don't think it did particularly well. I'm guessing the reason for so many type shops as you've mentioned Karter would be there is, in a strange way, a demand for them. Otherwise they wouldn't manage to stay. A music shop would be a good new re-addition to the lane :)
On the subject of jumping red lights... there's a woman who always drive through the red light at the traffic lights by Iceland. The first time I assumed she wasn't paying attention as I could see her on a mobile. The second time I thought "oh dear" but the 8th and 9th time? PLEASE! So missy if ur reading this WAKE UP! grrrr
Speed cameras don't stop cars from speeding at that particular moment in time, during which they may have knocked someone/something down or caused an accident of one kind or another.
A friend of mine (yes I do have them) send me a very long detailed txt about his "cup" journey mentioning "cups many times. Now I have to say I don't see too well in the dark when squinting at the fone and walking... it made me very confoosed!
