Tiny Little Things That Cause You Irrational Rage

Spam PMs... no I don't need my plumbing fixed! -

Although, of course that could just be my opinion on what is/should be socially acceptable in a public place and I could be out dated on such things! ;-)

former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
KalamityKel replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I really don't see how discussing such things here is any different than discussing the right or wrong of the positioning of zebra crossing. It's still matter of opinion AND something a council representative is involved in. -

Yet you're the one throwing political slander about in the first place James. Come now, if you didn't mean to get all political on this particular thread then you shouldn't have brought it up in the first place or at least if you no longer wish to justify your comments you should withdraw them and concentrate on resisting making your own comments rather than "resisting" others. Yes I'm sorry if it seems I am now dragging off topic, although I disagree I am as you are an ED councillor offering to help and people have genuine public questions you're choosing to ignore in the public domain, but you really shouldn't say off the cusp things without taking responsibility for your actions. -
I agree with Koolbananas. It wouldn't hurt to try.

moneysaver I'm not really sure what your point is... which part of vodafone is "very expensive" and which part of vodafone "break always"? If it's the network you're referring to then agreed it is a little on the steep side compared to others especially with the length of contract you have to take out to get the best offer. However, despite many commenting they have trouble with signal (I also have trouble at home and generally the area should b fine - not in the middle of a hill, dip or next to mast) the network is great in places you wouldn't expect to get coverage at all - I work underground and get a signal! If you're meaning the phones themselves it's irrelevant which network you go with, they don't make the phones, even the ones they claim are theirs. When I was with orange at the time of one of my upgrades I had to try 3 different phones (sending them back) until one actually worked properly.

Advice on fitted wardrobes please!
KalamityKel replied to JulieW's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I'd definately go with a carpenter rather than pre/custom made from one of the companies already mentioned. My dad made and fitting cupboards, wardrobes etc throughout the house a couple of years ago, some spaces with shaped tops creating a nice flow to space and the eye. There's more of a personal touch and flexibility to change/add to plans. -

How are you hoping to achieve the pledges? What's the plan of action? What's involved in accomplishing these point? I'm not being picky here. I genuinely am interested in the proposed processes. It's easy to bullet point but this doesn't have content to keep my interest (generally) -

And for those who are not "old" or with families? -
We chose a rather loud blasting version of Spirit in the Sky when scattering my Granddad's ashes into the furnace of a steam train... A word of advice when considering such a scattering, especially when in motion - ensure the windows on the carriage are closed! The funeral itself contained the sombre yet peaceful/hopeful classical type selection upon arrival, Andrea Bocelli and Sara Brightman version of time to say goodbye for the emotional coffin descending into the ground in the crematorium and a good, extremely loud Royal Air Force recording of St Louis Blues March to be heard from the outside to the surrounding garden space for family exit.

Sitting on the bus minding my own business... woman next to me, her phone starts ringing, after much frantic rummaging to find phone in rather oversized bag finally manages to retrieve the phone and takes the call... now I'm not really much of a person to listen in but... the call, to summarise was in response to a recent job interview to which the result was, to guess by the excitable bouncing up and down in the seat (her not me!), was positive! I found myself feeling rather elated for someone I didn't know!

James i think your missing koolbananas point and cleverly dismissing the accusation youve made. To also throw in "one dimensional" comments is a bit hypocritical as it was, afterall, you who made the social cleansing an issue here for no reason except, how i also now see it, as an opportunity to hit out at party other than your own. If it was the libdems "fault" you would not have said what you did would you? Whilst its great our local councillors are doing much for the community it really should be through a sense of unity regardless of party. Much of what you claim to achieved as a party are tasks anyone could be expected to undertake, again, regardless of party. Its all well and good to give yourselves a pat on the back for your hard work but without the community giving you guidance the work would in all likely not have come about anyhow. The community is what is important not self congratulations -

Strange that the "council" think they have control of property that's not theirs... sounds very much like a certain school project no? Do you think perhaps, you, James, could keep the politics out of it for now? The Libs are doing enough bad mouthing in the real world. We don't really need it on here too. I'm sure there are plenty of faults to be found with all current policies regardless of party. It would be nice for everyone to work together to make a better world rather than push blame around when something doesn't operate who you personally would like. -

The destination of this bus has changed

Does anyone know if bus drivers are > covered by this legislation, I know that coach > drivers are, and it's the same licence - PSV ? > Could go some way to explaining it. Yes they have to follow the tachograph limits, at times being forced to stop at really inconvenient times (not just for the passenger but also the driver and other traffic). People shouldn't get grumpy with drivers, they are made to follow an overall network of controllers. They have to follow their instructions, most of the time following ridiculous and ill-informed details, or face being fined personally and to the bus company. What I find more annoying is people complaining they are going to be late when stuck on a bus that is waiting for a driver change or time regulating. That particular bus is only running to the planned time it is/was meant to be, meaning you'd have been late getting that bus anyway! If it's really such an issue about being on time to somewhere the answer is simple... lose that extra 20 min "lay in", get ya bum outta bed and get up and out early! -
