  1. From BBC Travel news 06.55: A2216 Lordship Lane East Dulwich, both ways between B219 Barry Road and Landells Road A2216 London - A2216 Lordship Lane in East Dulwich closed in both directions between the B219 Barry Road junction and the Landells Road junction, because of a serious accident. Diversion in operation - for buses 40, 176 and 185.
  2. Do be careful not to get too carried away with your trimming and be mindful for possible nests WITH babies within the "bush" Neighbours recently practically destroyed their annoying monstrosity of a shrub and completely ignored the blackbirds dive bombing them as they disturbed/destroyed an established nest. Was quite sad watching the parents of the destroyed nest continuing to fly around after the incident occurred in search of any survivors.

Still a few weeks to go but thank you all the same ;-)
  4. Oooo are you baking me a bday cake loz? :)) what type of food are you really interested in monitoring? Meat? Cakes? Bread? Not that I have a clue about such things! I'd like to follow my neighbours way of knowing when food is ready - when the smoke alarm goes off - but I think that may be a little on the over done side ;-)

  6. According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yummy_mummy "Yummy mummy is a slang term used in the United Kingdom to describe young, attractive and wealthy mothers" Made me chuckle especially "The stereotypical yummy mummy was described by Nirpal Dhaliwal in The Times as having an existence "bankrolled by a husband working himself to death in the City, [dressing] in designer outfits... carries the latest must-have bag [and] whose hair and nails are perfectly groomed". A yummy mummy would have several children and yet remain a "girl-about-town", dressing fashionably and appearing well-groomed and carefree" Can we really use this particular definition to the ED lovelies? I've never seen much "fashion" or appearance of "well grooming" around here! (yes yes I know they have kids, what else would one expect blah blah blah)
  7. http://planningonline.southwark.gov.uk/AcolNetCGI.exe?ACTION=UNWRAP&RIPNAME=Root.PgeResultDetail&TheSystemkey=9552043 Interesting... no support at all from nearby residents. I wonder how planning will respond
  8. "can" or "should"?
  9. Some time ago... I dunno I have trouble remembering last week never mind years ago! sheesh ur so demanding! ;-) No old skool peeps involved mind

Although, of course that could just be my opinion on what is/should be socially acceptable in a public place and I could be out dated on such things! ;-)
  12. I really don't see how discussing such things here is any different than discussing the right or wrong of the positioning of zebra crossing. It's still matter of opinion AND something a council representative is involved in.

James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi ZT, > I agree and am resisting further response to PT. Yet you're the one throwing political slander about in the first place James. Come now, if you didn't mean to get all political on this particular thread then you shouldn't have brought it up in the first place or at least if you no longer wish to justify your comments you should withdraw them and concentrate on resisting making your own comments rather than "resisting" others. Yes I'm sorry if it seems I am now dragging off topic, although I disagree I am as you are an ED councillor offering to help and people have genuine public questions you're choosing to ignore in the public domain, but you really shouldn't say off the cusp things without taking responsibility for your actions.
  14. I agree with Koolbananas. It wouldn't hurt to try.
  15. moneysaver I'm not really sure what your point is... which part of vodafone is "very expensive" and which part of vodafone "break always"? If it's the network you're referring to then agreed it is a little on the steep side compared to others especially with the length of contract you have to take out to get the best offer. However, despite many commenting they have trouble with signal (I also have trouble at home and generally the area should b fine - not in the middle of a hill, dip or next to mast) the network is great in places you wouldn't expect to get coverage at all - I work underground and get a signal! If you're meaning the phones themselves it's irrelevant which network you go with, they don't make the phones, even the ones they claim are theirs. When I was with orange at the time of one of my upgrades I had to try 3 different phones (sending them back) until one actually worked properly.
  16. people Today's commute is gonna be fun :-|
  17. This is certainly a thread that reminds me of the LibDems spiel... "Keep East Dulwich Special!" ;-)
  18. I'd definately go with a carpenter rather than pre/custom made from one of the companies already mentioned. My dad made and fitting cupboards, wardrobes etc throughout the house a couple of years ago, some spaces with shaped tops creating a nice flow to space and the eye. There's more of a personal touch and flexibility to change/add to plans.
  19. PT I wouldnt' get worked up by someone like LD. There's no helping such people. Remember the forum is open to all ages and most mentalities :-)
  20. How are you hoping to achieve the pledges? What's the plan of action? What's involved in accomplishing these point? I'm not being picky here. I genuinely am interested in the proposed processes. It's easy to bullet point but this doesn't have content to keep my interest (generally)
  21. go discuss it in the lounge LadyD! Shame on you *sighs* Welcome to the forum MMC! I do hope the silly actions of those on this one thread hasn't put you off of the rest of the forum... sadly you get melons like those above everywhere!
