Do not even consider sand! You wouldnt let children throw sand so why would you?! Sand can easily get in eyes. Its simply cruel! Using a water spray is a good method. Constant reassurance to your own cats is a must. Itll boost their confidence especially if you're in the outside space at the same time the aggressive cat is. We have a lot of cats come through our garden some that get along others do not. Most of it is territorial and a lot of the noises you hear are much worse than what it really is.
  2. Why take it to Battersea? IF you do catch it - and I can only think you'd sensibly only do this if the animal looks to be neglected or in distress and not just because the feline is a nuisance to you and yours - you'd be better off taking it to a local vets where they can check whether said feline is chipped, whether it's reported missing etc. keeping it in the neighbourhood rather than handing over as a missing pet to be rehomed. Have you tried to approach the cat? How does it respond? Have you tried to deter the cat from your garden and intervene when it's "terrorising" your own cats? What is it actually doing to "terrorise"? You don't know the circumstances surrounding your visitor and I think trying to catch it is a little drastic. Think how you might respond/feel is your cats were reported to be acting this way?
  3. Cherry 7up. Yes it still exists! :-)

  6. If I were to agree with you numbers and then say I must be a fab manager (based on your description) then does that make me a crap manager?

Overall this does not > look reflect well on the Council. That, I was under the impression, applied to postal submissions. All of Chesterfield Grove "should" have been notified or at least those that submitted comments the last time round. Although saying that, last time the only reason the whole street was notified was due to a resident physically posting the notice through the doors themselves so I wouldn't be at all surprised if it hasn't been done yet. It is certainly disappointing the planning department aren't more active or at least our councilors pushing for a bit more action to be done. Consistency all round is questionable.

  9. Consultation ends today. Shame they (M&S) didn't think their proposals warranted a public meeting as an opportunity for residents to voice their views like the PictureHouse is doing. *sighs*
  10. It was nice to see a development proposal that was considerate and sympathetic to the area. Nothing aggressive to outside improvements just subtle and nothing unexpected to the space. Was obvious why they chose ED and is viable as a business - a large portion of their Greenwich custom comes from ED. Good stuff!
  11. Haha good one :-D
  12. Well put. If anything i find 85volga rather unncessarily aggressive. Two wrongs (in your case 85volga) do not make a right
  13. One of the things that annoys me is the assumption people should entertain these people. Dont. Especially dont be telling these people what kind of security you have or dont have. Its none of their business and you are telling complete strangers strengths and weaknesses of your home security.

  17. Does anyone have any helpful insight as to why acknowledgments to comments for the application are taking so long to come through and also why no additional "Neighbour consulation replies" are appearing on the website? So far only 3 "in favour" of the application are showing yet I know there are more comments submitted...
  18. ADT is probably one of the most nuisance type of caller - I reported them to the safer neighbourhood team yesterday to which we're currently awaiting a response. These in particular, if you check the ADT thread, cause a lot of bother with intimidation and make residents feel uncomfortable especially, and I say this on pure speculation yet the feeling is there amoungst residents, when visits with ADT usually coincide with spats of burglaries/attempted burglaries. Other types of callers are charities or children, not from neighbouring streets, knocking wanting to be sponsored for some sort of event or other. I do believe this would be something worthwhile to invest in.
  19. James, I appreciate this is perhaps not your area of expertise but...How would one go about setting up a NCCCZ (No cold calling control zone) with in the local area?
  20. I feel the need to express my frustration: 5th time in two consecutive days four young gentleman knocked on my door each time receiving different responses from our household all along the very polite lines of no thank you and please stop knocking. This last time however resulted in a confrontation between myself and the young "senior representative" who didn't understand why we were bothered having ADT knocking on our door. After being told to go away by someone else in my house i interjected asking to be given a business card by one of them so I could make contact with the company. I was shown their ID badges but repeated again I wanted a business card. I was rudely and off handedly told I could ring their boss if I didn't believe they were from ADT. That was not why I wanted their details. I simply wanted something I could refer to for when they next visited. Now, I was and am not questioning their authenticity I am aggrieved by their attitude. I noted that the more senior member carried a scrappy little note book where he'd written down house numbers and crosses and ticks, assuming recording responses of who opened the door and not. I pointed out that I was requesting not to be disturbed again and the only record of my request would be that little piece of paper which is not professional and does't demonstrate any seriousness from ADT. My comment was ignored and the conversation continued into the sales pitch - I was told that it's evident (by looking at the houses) that many properties are not alarmed nor protected and that's what ADT were here to sort out. I pointed out their excessive approach was rather aggressive and intrusive to be further told that ADT were here to help. There was no apology for their harassing. When I questioned why ADT continued to target residents in such a manner the senior rep decided our conversation was at an end and started walking away. The conversation was not ended and I continued to express my concerns The young lads (one senior, two trainees and one being interviewed on the job - according to the senior rep) continued to attempt to sell their goods and waffling on statistics and also told that they (for what ever reason this was significant) that they earnt a lot more than other people. I was also informed that if I needed anything else they'd be around until 8.30pm - so if anyone is interested I can point you in the right direction!
