Now now no need to throw "you clearly don't use the route" comment at me. Yes I do thank you very much. It's only for a short time for goodness sake! Yes it's an inconvenience but hardly the end of the world. If you didn't have the luxury of a bus route in that area you wouldn't be soft in thinking on such dependence. Surely it is good road works are happening to improve the area and prevent possibly longer term issues which, god forbid, could result in the route being affected for much longer. PeckhamRye I appreciate the grumble of being soaked through after a long days work and then find the route is disrupted - happens to us all- although I think disappointment rather than inconvenience is more apt here :-)

I would hope second hand goods were sold cheaper than rrp! I think the point being made regarding prices that its a charity shop and shouldnt be expensive. As pointed out earlier charity shops should be working both ways - raising funds for their charity and also helping those less finanically well off by offering goods at incredibly affordable prices. Many charity shops are forgetting this principal. Not that im saying there is necessarily anything wrong with this and it is business afterall and if people are willing to pay such prices... depends where your morals are i guess...
  9. I think a singing bin is far less concerning than finding an italian tenor lurking by a bin...

    Ask Admin

Admin periodically clear out old posts... I wouldn't take it personally it's just a bit of house keeping.

How does this help anything? If you think it would obviously help - is there such an incentive, for whatever reason, that wouldn't result in costing more money that probably wouldn't be recooped or if it did in any beneficial way?
  19. Was the shirt yours?

Or was the point saying that whilst it's a charity shop it won't look shabby so people shouldn't grumble about "lowering the tone" of the area?
  21. "temporary" Stall, tents, flags, food stalls etc just doesn't have the same ring to it tho does it?
  22. I was a little disappointed with the shops on LL not really getting in to the spirit of it all - a few balloons here and there and St Christopher's Hospice with a stall outside trying to capture passersby, who clearly had more important, non charitable things on their mind (given the look on some people's face), attention. I thought the whole day was meant to be focused on ED community and traders not just NCR... shame.
