  1. Medical services - these last few days my experience wiv ambulance, a&e and now the gp has left me feeling incredibly insignificant and an incovenience to these very important services yet I am the one in pain and need...
  2. Didnt know there was such a "flavour"... wet cheese...???
  3. Dr sarma and the mgmc were the two who were meant to move into the new medical building on the hospital site
  4. Not sure why I'm thinking of Norbury or out that way... Might be thinking of a different appreciation along a similar line!

Catchment areas still apply to the other surgeries as does the whole registration malarky of filling out a form, dropping it in to the surgery, providing various forms of ridiculous ID, battling with the receptionist, booking in to see the nurse for the silly health check which covers everything you've filled in on the form (even if you've just had a check up at your old surgery)and then a docs appointment if needed - it should simply be a straight transfer with none of this rubbish... 2180 appointments now are being taken up unnecessarily. The whole process is ridiculous. After moving to a surgery you DON'T want to go to - how can anyone say there is a choice when many patients at Dr Sarma's surgery moved they because they had already tried the others? What guarantee is there that a similar form of closure won't occur to the surgery you end up going to a little way down the line? If NHS England have done their research as they claim does this not open their eyes to other surgeries they may want to close/not continue to run? This particular surgery was to be included, along with MGMC, with future plans for hospital site - if it was considered on this side of plans why suddenly deem it now as unimportant? How does one quick short study out do the other that has been going on for years? The whole point of the "demonstration" I would have assumed was to highlight a whole number of issues which we ALL should be concerned about. So those thinking oh it doesn't concern me... really? Doesn't it? The demonstration is open to all. Come along if you care about your area.
  6. I appreciate your thoughts however, not everyone has computer access or is computer savvy. The letter sent does not advise of any "online registration" facility so the issue still remains. I'm not concerned for myself - merely pointing out the unhelpfulness (yet typical) and unsupportive attitude being demonstrated. Not everyone likes change and indeed find embracing any change a challenge.
  7. I often find those that use terms such as being discussed (Yummy Mummy/Tart) don't use it necessarily in the context it is interpreted and many don't truly know (as with the many many many phrases used today whether on the "sexist" or "racist" spectrum) the proper definitions. Agree with me or (most probably) not it becomes slang with not much thought behind it - something casually used as a description of something where by most can understand without much discussion. Are we offended by the use of "chav"? On the surface "chav" is used so loosely yet is offensive below the surface. Those that tend to be offended by such words then in return make judgments on the individual using it which can be just as inaccurate. A circle difficult to break.
  8. Letters of confirmation from NHS are landing on doorsteps today. Ours just came through the letterbox. Great timing - dated the 17th arrives on a Friday when many won't open until this evening and then will likely be worrying over the weekend with no "support" available. Nice

  10. The council in all their various documentation and information packs already refer to Lordship Lane as a high street... don't mean nuffink really ;-)

They were asked several times why the practice couldn't continue under a different doctor - the answer was totally evaded and certainly not offered as is here.

There has always been problems there even before housing was added at the barracks. Its always been a case of when one goes another big one near by follows suit. Besides there have been several spots up that way that have had trickles trickling for weeks...
  13. Is this not part of the general road improvements planned along that stretch of road which is meant to be for cycle safety or something? If it is there was quite extensive and very pointless consultation on it some time ago. Still cant imagine how it is supposed to be an improvement or safer...

  15. first mate my dear, as always, it goes a lot deeper than just surface "there's plenty of other surgeries" and it doesn't matter approach. James, could you PLEASE reply to our inquiries?
  16. Some will notice the South London Press featured part cover of this matter on the front page of today's issue. It's not a particularly great piece of writing and doesn't cover any of the issue concerned and gives the impression the PPG had prior knowledge to no of the closing of the surgery which is certainly not the case. The surgery and other supporters are keen to have accurate and more coverage from other publications and news avenues. If you would be interested in sharing your views and even be involved in a group picture (apparently we're more likely to get a bigger section with a picture) please drop me a PM so we can organise a suitable time for all. Obviously time is tight for all those involved but support is greatly appreciated.
  17. Should I be hopeful at all for my Mexico or Croatia sweepstakes? Best ?1 spent? ...
  18. I'm not really sure what is going any more. A meeting was definitely attempted to be arranged last night. Could be a case of certain members of staff are trying to drum up support whilst others are not. I really don't know. I'm just feeding info to here as and when I hear.
  19. James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hi lameduck, > I'm not sure yet. Would be great if local councillors could get as involved in this as with other projects like sourcing sites for new schools etc. This issue is just as important. Do we have any support from the council? If you can't help could you please actively advise who can.
  20. Due to poor turn out the meeting that was schedule to take place yesterday evening did not happen. Yes it was late notice for people but you can't blame those at the surgery for trying. Comments like littleones referring to not accessing information about the meeting until late due to being a work and such is not helpful. Most of us work and can't just drop things last minute. There's no point complaining you were not involved. You could help yourselves - call the surgery, express your interest in wanting to help in whatever way you can. MAKE yourselves heard instead of expecting others to run around doing the work for you. I had only found out about the meeting shortly before posting on here that is was taking place - directly from the surgery. I also was unable to attend and I'm only passing on information as it is being shared. BicBasher attached is a list of surgeries being advised to join. I have concerns that although there is "choice" I'm not convinced it will be easy to simply switch. It was already identified there wasn't a suitable surgery that could take all Dr Sarma's patients in bulk so the other surgeries are expected to absorb these patients - what if a large number wanted to register at a particular surgery over others. They wouldn't be able to cope resulting in patients being refused and having to go elsewhere which could then be a similar occurrence across the board. Patients being pushed from pillar to post. Not particularly fair.
  21. Are you saying the only problem (minus the unfriendly staff) is the card won't work? Does this stop him using the facilities or anything offered as part of membership? I'd certainly inquire to the having the card replaced. If not having the card working is stopping him from using the facilities surely he shouldn't be paying for a service he's not receiving especially if the company is not offering a way to solve the problem and he should stop the direct debit.
