More importantly predictions on how the season can be completed? Or worse case scenarios. Have Liverpool lost sympathy due to their position on coronavirus? The most left wing city in the country but a team not adhering to socialist principles. Yes, politics and sports to mix.

Prime Minister moved to Intensive Care - non political

A bizarre bit of logic, that is like saying I quite like Hitler as he p'd off Germany's liberal intellectual types. I doubt if BJ is that popular with some other racial groups, as well as some other sectors of society judging by his use of terms such as picanniny, letterbox and bumboy. If I'd used such terms in my work place, no matter how much I was intending to be satirical, I'd be in a lot of bother. As for him 'deserving it', nobody deserves serious harm and that was foolish to say the least. Whether he could have prevented it by better/earlier social distancing will come out in the wash but probably no worse than the celebs and sports stars catching it at the Cheltenham races. As for my sympathies very much with key workers/front line workers. -
What needs to change? (post coronavirus) VIDEO
malumbu replied to supersammyc's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
You could do a nice video of the 'class war' graffiti that has going up, my favourite (I am sure that it is not literal) is 'guillotine all landlords', a lot of it is about a break in charging rent. Whether we will get a fairer society is to be seen.... -
Is that why they are always so crowded with friends and relatives of the deceased? I expect most people nowadays if they choose to be buried will be happy that the space is used by others. Even better when they are nature reserves as well. We've always been happy to respect those visiting graves when we go to cemeteries.

Let's face it you are all unsocial southerners who do not speak to your neighbours, people on shop and buses, and prefer to do your communication on line. When I were a lad you could leave your door open when your were down pit, sweeping chimneys or in service at the local big house knowing that your few belongings in your back to back would be safe and the only people who would come in would be to feed your cat. Good thread by the way. It is a spoof one. Surely. What?

He's got a deputy and a cabinet who can run the country in his absence. I've been looking a lot at Churchill who had a cross party inner circle during the war and had his own physical and mental health issues. BJ's of course in the best place and few people wish him ill in this situation. I was perplexed about the 'need to work' over recent days when he was clearly quite poorly. -
In deed, Shock, see positive article on most people behaving https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52162490

This thread seems to have run its course. Sally, I and others will continue to cycle responsibly (and not together) as our daily exercise, whilst this is permitted. I'll continue to look to the positives, including how the majority of the country has responded, and expect the authorities to take soft and harder action to encourage others to behave themselves. I'll continue to be grateful that the same authorities have yet had to go down the way of France. There is a good thread for letting off steam at those not behaving themselves and/or encouraging greater isolation: /forum/list.php?20 Sadly BBC has stopped taking comments on relevant articles - these were wonderfully diverse, and at times highly offensive. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52181808?intlink_from_url=&

I've got a few if anyone wants to pm me. Hadn't realised that they don't keep until next year! I've also got some yellow irises for the pond but unless you are desperate they can wait for a few months.

As so few people telephone for a chat nowadays I'm quite missing the exotic voices, and the occasional very sophisticated voice, telling me that I am owed a tax/PPI refund, have been involved in an accident, or owe money to organizations that I have not subscribed to. On the good side the call centres across the world are following the guidance.

Good heavens, if people are like this after two weeks what on earth will it be like after two months? To remind you of the advice: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-outbreak-faqs-what-you-can-and-cant-do/coronavirus-outbreak-faqs-what-you-can-and-cant-do You should only leave the house for very limited purposes: shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible one form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household any medical need, including to donate blood, avoid or escape risk of injury or harm, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person travelling for work purposes, but only where you cannot work from home

Thanks - pineapple is most versatile and it wont go to waste. Full link to tinned fruit

Are others going through there cupboards to see what is in there? A number of packet sources which came with various Mexican or curry kits. Don't care if they are past their sell by date as long as they haven't been opened. I've got a mystery one with no writing or instructions on it, smells spicy but sniffing it made me sneeze which is not a good thing. I'm going to mix this with water and casserole something with it. I did find a Ainsley Harriott dal mix which I felt inclined to use. It was horrid so I do have my limits on using old stock. But worryingly I did find some tinned pineapple. I haven't had tinned fruit since the 80s and it takes me back to the decade before when we used to have tinned peaches or mandarin oranges in evaporated milk. It was seen to be very modern - interestingly in a family that also baked and preserved fruit so there were also positives. Not sure where the pineapple came from and worried that someone in the household is stockpiling. I'll be looking for secret stashes of tinned fruit salad. Yes noted. As said there is a serious conversation on how best to deliver social distancing. I'm trying to concentrate on the positives but understand there are a minority who are misbehaving. I find the best place for a rant is the BBC website - comments are polarised to say the least and it is good that there is a new thing to get exercised about after Brexit (that is an ironic comment). The other good thing about the BBC is that it is more anonymous than community websites in that you are unlikely to bump into anyone you are having a ding dong with, and in any case there are so many posts personal animosity gets lost. Right off to rant about the store cupboard. -
Have some drivers forgotten safety?
malumbu replied to Lollipop's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Not a lot will be done in the current situation but please don't forget this when things are 'back to normal'. Political parties not prepared to take on poor driving, and local authorities not joined up, not adequately funded or just not bothered. -

I'm happy to take my advice from government, which is go out and exercise once a day. The roads are lovely and quiet and I hardly get close to anyone (ideally that would be zero). Quiet roads are a sliver lining. But tell me where you live and I'll avoid the area. There is a thread on the lounge 'has anyone heard of coronavirus' or words to that effect where you can have a moan in similar company. Today's journey was to Beckenham, and then up Annerley Hill. Not that pretty but a good work out. You will be pleased to hear that I am avoiding Richmond Park, which is too busy at the best of times. LJ56 - yes the wonkers in cars speeding is even more noticeable, many being businesses quite a lot liveried. There isn't even an argument about congestion delaying journeys any more. I love the BBC using sitcoms to encourage the right behaviours, I'll think about an appropriate sketch to encourage more considerate behaviour by those who have to drive.

Yes, I know what you mean, it is a totally overrated chippy. I prefer the one opposite Forest Hill Station. If your point is about social distancing I am sure that there is a conversation to be had about how this can best be enforced eg why is the chippy not doing more, can they be reported to the authorities and if so who? I doubt whether a minor rant on this site does a lot of good apart from getting things off your chest. Great Mash report by the way tonight, talking about politics reversal. The swing towards socialist policies by the government whilst lefty liberals are calling for state interventions and martial law. -
Not sure how quickly they developed herd immunity but the indigenous population of South America was devastated by diseases from the old world - in particular smallpox, typhus, measles, influenza, bubonic plague, cholera, malaria, tuberculosis, mumps, yellow fever and pertussis,

I think to be fair that the Cat was using French where retard is not offensive, but means 'late'. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Collection-Monsieur-Madame-Little-Miss/dp/2012248659 Similarly if he/she uses the term 'mong' - another offensive/horrid word we used as kids as an insult it is actually Vietnamese for 'hope' I'm being ironic Ruskin Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > se22cat Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Bloody council should be out using their paint > for > > this rather than their retarded anti-resident > CPZ > > crap. > > Seconded!!
