    Receipts

Could you prove that it was actually your receipt, Burbage? You could have taken it from the verger's pocket as an alibi. Morrison't won't keep CCTV that long, so unless you intended to summon up a helpful demon outside your protective pentagon to back-up you story, I don't think you've got a hope.Buy a drone now so your nearest and dearest can send you a few home comforts..

    Receipts

The airline lost my suitcase once and the insurance company wanted receipts for everything I was claiming. Needless to say I couldn't find any. So if you do a lot of travelling, perhaps keeping clothes receipts might be useful.
  3. In my Victorian house the wall are made from either something out of Star Trek where a cruise missile would bounce off, or some variety of crumbly cheese
  4. The back streets behind the ED Tavern are free, if you can find a space. The essential word here is IF. What with skips, builder's vans, people parking for LL, the Baths and the Station and the poor suffering householders there, you may not find it easy.

    Tyres slashed

According to Kwik fit, there's been a spate of tyre slashing. Just had mine done on Crawthew. ?120 down the drain
  6. What has the name of the institution got to do with the point that if you pay for a service, that service should deliver?. Anyway, I left one clue.
  7. 1)I never said my complaint was with the volunteers, if you read my original post. 2) Any institution or service that is charging the public money should provide a professional service. What's wrong with expecting something for one's money? 3) I don't think paying for something that isn't delivered is "expectation too high" Do Jules and Boo go round handing money to shops etc and expect nothing in return?
  8. It required immediate action when I first went in and could have been dealt with then. I wasn't the only person it inconvenienced as I'd taken someone with me. It wouldn't have been dealt with if I hadn't returned. She did express regret. The transaction still wasn't completely dealt with for my companion As for being pointless, have you read other posts here? As an entirely different, totally unconnected remark, of course, anyone seen any good pictures lately?
  9. Not a charity shop, for once
  10. Just found my tire slashed on Crawthew. Thanks, someone
  11. I've just had a run in with a well known institution in Dulwich. I tried to get my problem sorted out in the morning, but with no luck. I got angrier and angrier over lunch and went back in the afternoon,. This time, the "we're all volunteers" schtick didn't work and I demanded the person in charge,. She arrived and said she'd heard about my complaint in the morning, but "There's only me and I was on a bad mood". So now you all know. If you're in a bad mood, what do the customers matter.
  12. Not to mention the bottles of yellow fluid

  15. Today's paper says that if every under-12 picked only 10 flowers each, it amounts to 60 million flowers.
  16. Someone in the paper today whinging that the police had seen his daughter picking flowers ("There were hundreds of them") and confiscated them. It probably wouldn't have been worth pointing out to him that if everyone picked some, there wouldn't be hundreds. My child is, of course, entitled to do what it likes, is what he thinks, I imagine.
  17. It was clear this afternoon
  18. A true classic of how to write just to show everyone else how clever you are, without saying anything useful. Very little of that article actually makes any sense at all, but my, aren't I clever and media savvy.
  19. Hi James Could you lean on Thames Water about the leak on Worlingham Rd? It's been running for a couple of weeks now and it seems a waste. Not to mention my worries about our cellar flooding. A van came and drew a chalk mark round it initially, but that's been it.
  20. Completely gridlocked this morning. All road to the roundabout affected too
  21. DMC On the plus side , I got a same day appointment after calling the help line a few weeks ago. On the debit, it's just taken 8 visits to there and chemist to get a repeat prescription sorted out.

    Hypocrite?

I can't see anything very nasty in the above comments. Not as nasty as some of the people in Crawthew are entitled to make, I feel and I don't think for a moment he would care anything, judging by the trouble, noise and nuisance he's caused.
  23. I wonder if he's any relation to "Bottles of yellow liquid person"
