  1. Yes.Basically it's an extremely expensive mongrel
  2. Yes, I think my "very energetic" was code for insane and incapable of sitting still.
  3. I reported rats to the woman on customers services in Sainsburys once. She said "Oh yes, I often see them" which wasn't quite the response I'd been hoping for.
  4. I have two different friends with them and they (the dogs, not the friends) have grown very big and very very energetic
  5. "Motorist Fined for driving their car down a road" "I was shocked", said blonde Mother of Three "It gives me the creeps to think, if I'd been standing still in the middle of the road, they might have hit me" "Yeah" added Mr Cyclist,21, "If I'd been going through those red lights at top whack like always, who knows what would have happened"
  6. Come on, EDhistory. Tell us all about the rather nice parade of shops it's in. There isn't another like it locally, I think?
  7. But it's been there for ever!
  8. Surely the Health and S issue can't be ignored?
  9. Look on-line for storage facilites No, the police won't do anything about it. Southwark might. Because of it's width, it might be causing an obstruction for larger or service vehicles, but I don't suppose anyone will mind if it's just there while you load/unload. We've had one parked on our street for months, and believe me, the owners have not endeared themselves to anyone
  10. You can't leave it on the road, unless attached to a car, and that will seriously annoy your neighbours, parking being what it it. You'll have to pay, I'm afraid, unless you know someone with enough space to accommodate it for you.
  11. If that's the street I think it is, I wouldn't want to try and get a bus down it, backwards or forwards
  12. On the subject of cat flaps, our neighbours were burgled through theirs. They'd got quite a big one and the thief dismantled the outer rim and crawled through. Must have been a child or an exceptionally thin adult. Then took their car keys/car and anything valuable lying around, and left through the front door. So don't be tempted into a larger sized cat flap, seems to be the message.
  13. What about a direct service to Honour Oak?
  14. I saw an interesting article about the bloke who founded the Tiger chain of shops. He's Danish and said he was horrified on coming to Britain to see that Cheap equated with Nasty and Badly designed, so he's tried to do something about it. With some success, I think. He thought it was because of the class system here - If you're poor, you should be grateful for anything.
  15. So, we don't approve of his banning people, so we ban him. Perhaps someone could explain the logic of this to me?

    Auction house

Does anyone know of a good small auction house locally? Roseberry's seems a bit grand for the kind of thing I want to sell and I've heard several bad reports on Greenwich.
  17. A slashed tyre on Worlingham Rd, I believe.

    Parked van

Yes it's gone, perhaps due to my telling Southwark. It just seemed so dd in this part of the world to get away with it for a week.

    Parked van

Yes, the public, wheelchair etc, dropped kerb

    Parked van

How come there's been a van parked blocking the dropped kerb at the junction of Worlingham/Crawthew for about a week? Most people get about 30 seconds grace if they illegally park in ED. The parking bloke was right by it this morning and nothing happened. What's special about it, I ask myself?
  21. I agree with Bigmacca I. It does look like the remains of a log-effect fire, We too had one, and while it looked good, it gave out about as much heat as a candle. Yours looks in very ropy condition. British Gas tend to charge a lot more than anyone else, I've found, but I too would get it checked.
  22. I got a reply from the PO regarding my complaint. Extremely polite and apologetic, but, basically, the situation is what it is. "Changes to ensure our future sustainability". So there.
  23. To divert again, (sorry Buddug) Anglo -Saxon law allowed common abuse, as long as it wasn't provably untrue, and this, roughly speaking, has continued. Thus you could call someone ugly, and this is mere abuse, but not a bastard, if they were born in wedlock. Good luck, Buddug.
  24. What is real, Zebedee Tring? However, it is a word that's been used before.
