  1. The people in the carpet shop have always been very civil to me, even when I waste their time because I can't really afford them. Also they let us have a remnant cheaper than the ticket price.
  2. Most of these types of offers, plates, models, etc don't have any long term value. Your free offer is made in the hope you'll go on to buy more.Buy because you like it, not for profit and you won't be disappointed
  3. Nunhead is full of photographers, since it's full of birds, butterflies and interesting tombs. Personally, I would rather have photographers than people using graves a a dog'a toilet
  4. Mine never get collected and I've seen people going into gardens and taking the bags
  5. Does anyone know what's happening to the building on North X Rd next to the Mosque? It seems to have been under construction for a long time now
  6. Southwark organise a free bring and take event where you can take stuff and then help yourself to anything you fancy. I've got some good stuff and got rid of things others people are glad to have free.
  7. When St John's and St. Clement's school was in North X Rd.
  8. No-one actually shouted at me, New Wave, but I appreciated it looked dodgy. But it was just starting to rain, and if I hadn't done it then, the whole bag would have been pulped. Perhaps one could carry a sign, along the lines of "I am a really nice, typical ED person, and I am doing it for really nice reasons" .
  9. I once rescued a bag of books when it was starting to rain, and took them back later, but of course everyone must have thought I was stealing them, which was mildly embarrassing
  10. I'm not being flippant with these cats' suffering, but our cat took to attacking dogs. He would sit on the wall and then swipe them as they passed. Unfortunately he went for a big dog once and it nearly took his leg off. It stopped that game, however.
  11. When you could go fishing on Goose Green
  12. Yes, very polite and friendly, both of the staff yesterday
  13. Your renovations have probably disturbed them. I don't want to sound defeatist, but in a high density area with terraced housing, you can never be sure you're mouse-free. They often live in our combi-boiler. Traps may be unpleasant but they're quick and you won't have bodies smelling under the floorboards, as you can get with poison.
  14. I still think Farmer's Nan is the Big Cheese
  15. Vets sometimes have a use for old towels (not that I'm implying yours are old , Helenblack)
  16. Part of their terms and conditions, I believe. They can locate relatives who've also had their DNA done via Ancestry. It's then up to you if you wish further contact.
  17. Ancestry found me several relatives, which was interesting.
  18. Does having all your vans parked in the street count as trading on the street? (which probably need some sort of licence.)I'm always grateful I'm not one of their neighbours trying to park.
  19. I once had to go all the way to Victoria to talk to a human being. No-one at E Dulwich, no-one at Denmark Hill and the machines being repaired
  20. Ancestry has a special offer on at the moment
  21. Lakewell is Balaklava man ? Huntley protecting him because they had an affair? Huntley is insane? Farmer did do it and his Nan has just found some of the girl's remains in the freezer and buried them herself?
  22. Balaclava man might be Farmer all along, but you may be right, Otta. There was the significant phone call to him just before Arnott was attacked. And Broadchurch isn't worth watching.

    Receipts

Could you prove that it was actually your receipt, Burbage? You could have taken it from the verger's pocket as an alibi. Morrison't won't keep CCTV that long, so unless you intended to summon up a helpful demon outside your protective pentagon to back-up you story, I don't think you've got a hope.Buy a drone now so your nearest and dearest can send you a few home comforts..

    Receipts

The airline lost my suitcase once and the insurance company wanted receipts for everything I was claiming. Needless to say I couldn't find any. So if you do a lot of travelling, perhaps keeping clothes receipts might be useful.
