  1. Now I know my maths is poor, but I do know a little about consumer law. I've just come back from the Gap Outlet shop in Lewisham. Garment in question ?39.99 with a 50% Off ticket. Man at till "That'll be ?43.99,please" "Hang on, I says, "it was only ?39.99 to start with" "Oh" Re-does till "That'll be ?23.99." "That's not 50% off", I remark, rather coldly by now "No, it should only be 40% off. It's headquarter's fault" "That's illegal to display one price and charge another" (coldness merging into annoyance.) "No,we have 24 hours to rectify it. We have rights too" Customer service?
  2. Are they ever going to finish the building works on Crystal Palace road? I'm glad they're not my builders.
  3. It was forbidden years ago in Lambeth. Presumably still is.
  4. Go to the charity shops. Saw someone buy a lovely castle there for ?5 yesterday. Toys R Us makes me want to lie in a darkened room and whimper. Mountains of plastic at enormous cost.
  5. HI. I have tried to e-mail your parking dept. about the caravan, but it bounced back. Is there any one else you can suggest? All the forms on the website seem to relate to specific issues, I can't find anywhere to report the caravan
  6. Our bin emptied then dumped in our hedge, this week.Obviously far too far to expect them to push it back along the pavement (about 1 meter) and into our garden
  7. I've got a bit tired of the towing caravan parked outside no 26 Worlingham Rd. It's been there for months now. I believe this isn't allowed. Parking here is bad enough without large vehicles I have e-mailed your parking dept. And, on another issue, are they ever going to fix the traffic lights on Dog Kennel Hill? Thanks
  8. Someone has left a box of videos on our pavement, but they've also left a video player. How thoughtful! Of course, you may think that the pavement is not the real place to leave your rubbish.
  9. Someone from Southwark was looking into it yesterday afternoon

    Christmas

I think the fridge has gone where good fridges go (no flowers, thank you). If we parcel the time out into 98 days and get the non-perishables first, Christmas shouldn't take us by surprise in arriving on 25th December this year.

    Christmas

Unfortunately my fridge/freezer broke down yesterday. By the time I get a replacement there will be only about 14 weeks left to get supplies in. The pressure is mounting.

    Christmas

Sainsburys is now selling Christmas cake and Christmas puds. Buy early to beat the rush
  13. Potatoes ?2 in M&S. 89p in Co-op
  14. Arctic roll still available. Instant whip Wasn't "Mary's boy child" top at Christmas 76?
  15. Part of Worlingham Rd was coned off yesterday as workmen were due. Everyone scrambled to find somewhere else to park, then nothing happened.
  16. I question the "brilliant and very helpful". The hole on the wall eat my card then lit up "out of order". It took about 20 minutes to find anyone to help and even she was completely indifferent.
  17. People who carry back packs and don't seem to realise they take up space. So they hit you in the face on a bus/block up aisles/ bump into you when they turn round. Also people with wheeled luggage who trail it behind in crowded stations, then just randomly stop.
  18. ED doesn't need a dedicated greengrocer. What it needs is a new restaurant. You have to walk for several yards to find one

    Empty Shops

The charity shop at 405 Lordship Lane, almost opposite Dulwich Library had gone and is now a junk/antique shop. Some interesting stuff
  21. Took 4 trains today, Ed to LB. Every one late
  22. Yes, guests always served first. So then,as guests, they choose whether to wait or not Formal etiquette used to dictate that you started eating as soon as your food arrived, as with a big dinner party it would be cold before everyone else had been served. But formal etiquette used to say that it was rude to praise your food. By complimenting it, you were obliquely raising the thought that the food might not be good always.
  23. Train from Beckenham on Saturday terminated at Tulse Hill. No-one there seemed to know anything about replacement buses. The man selling the Big Issue outside was more helpful than any of them. Finally tracked down the bus (with heavy bags)way up the road to be told it had broken down and the driver had no idea when the next one would be "There's only been two buses in three hours" And we pay for this?
  24. Were these lights ever mended?. Am sick of waiting a red light when there's no bus in sight and when the bus light is red, the buses swerve into the car space and then their lights go green and the bus has to wait, as well as us motorists
