  2. "Daily Mail reader explodes with righteous indignation"
  3. Amazing that some people simply feel that their point of view is the only one! Davey - you don't like the TCC - good don't go there then and it will be easier for me to get a table next time I want to go.
  4. Can't really see the point of going to the Magnolia and moaning that it's not the same as the Magdala! I am sure that Rose and her crew will get round to other areas of the pub later - after all it's no longer summer so I would have thought renovation of the garden areas could easily wait until spring in time for next summer. However I would like to put in a plea for the bbq as I thought the one at the Magdala was really good.
  5. Oh Jah - I've all welled up (and not being sarcastic)
  6. Do you get squirrels on ships and do they desert sinking ones?
  7. Surely we are not meant to like mean grey squirrels who have ousted our nice little red squirrels.
  8. My mother had no patience so everything was burnt on the outside and raw in the middle. She really was a disgracefully bad example. I think I lived on bread (white) and honey until about 11.
  9. I think squirrels taste nicer than rats but being a vegetarian I haven't tried either of them.
  10. Recently the world has been full of people who think they are someone because they have a Prada outfit and a 45" Plasma TV - I'd be very glad to see the end of THAT world.
  11. Louisa - because it would piss her off so much!
  12. I think it was when I realised I could see the bone that I worried. I've never cut myself before or since but when door bells go loudly just before the point of contact............
  13. I ended up at A&E after lack on concentration meant that the knive meant to be slicing the pumpkin in half almost severed my thumb!
  14. Jogging is not the best form of exercise by itself and would be better as part of a overall fitness plan, but it does provide a cardio work-out and as the comment was that people are overweight because gyms cost so much, a jog would be better than nothing and does cost nothing.
  15. I love the actual cooking, it's the thinking of different things to make every night of the week that gets me and when I ask for suggestions I always get 'anything will do' or 'everything you make is nice', which is kind but not very helpful.
  16. How much does it cost to jog round the park?
  17. I've never had bad food in the TCC - and I try (very hard) to think of their service as being idiosyncratic. And as for price, I've never spent more than ?10/head including corkage.
  18. People who talk on their mobile phones in the gym - honestly are you really THAT important?
  19. Is there a Magnolia blog then?
  20. estate agents and recruitment consultants and having to be polite to them.
  21. When did the aviary go? I don't remember seeing it and I've been here for 20ish years (perhaps I am just dreadfully unobservant)
  22. Careful - I see The Lounge approaching.
  23. Bellenden Belle Wrote: > Actually I recall hearing about the tears and > tribulations of Green and Blue, if not here then > most definitely on their blog - news of which > spilled onto here, rather like a cheap cloying > sweet sherry. But you don't HAVE to read their blog if you don't like what is on it.
  24. I think that stating an opinion 'having kids is the best thing ever' as a FACT, will cause debate from those who have a different opinion. I am sure that if it had been a question 'IS having kids the best thing ever?' or an individialised statement 'having kids is the best thing ever for me' it would have been less controversial.
  25. So sorry to hear that - fingers crossed that the foxes won't get lucky next time. I'm sorry I'm not sure about your childrens ages, but hope that they weren't too upset by the experience.
