  1. Nah. H loves to use words like sacrifice and beans in his "my dreams my hopes" posts Nexus doesn't have any hopes, only links Unless we are looking at a Harvey Dent situation
  2. What is she due? She is due what she expected when she grew up in a society which taxed at 40% or 60% or whatever it is / was She looked at that and thought "if I have an idea good enough and work hard enough and Get Lucky I will be minted even after all the taxes" And she gets to where she wants to be. What is she due???? She didn't employ people out of altruism. She needed the labour. She wouldn't have succeeded without it She isn't due anything She is where she planned and hoped to be
  3. I can't see how they are ripping off society. Good luck to 'em But it's when some of them look at their tax bill and not their net income and think its they who are losing out I start to get annoyed When she was young she would have been aware of the state position on tax and started her risky venture in full knowledge of said contract. She would have paid good money to ensure she got to that level early on i'll bet. So she makes it. Well done, and now the cycle continues
  4. Until people have unique numbers visible on their body, linked to a central database) that's likely to remain the case (and long may it be so) If its any consolation you can drive in a bus lane in a car with fake reg plates and get away with it too. Happy now?
  5. But more seriously who is accusing who of sucking what nation dry If "she" starts to make a profit and pays her tax on said profit where is the problem She might think that the 99 other people who sacrificed as much as she did but weren't successful shouldn't be condemned to a life of misery and a basic state support is there for them. As long as the winners pay their taxes. After all she is winning
  6. When she senses success is just around the corner and starts a thread on a forum in an ill conceived attempt at reassurance?
  7. But if the banks installed the CCTV, would they be protecting customers? And how so? And who would they lose customers to? If Bank C set up a network of ATMs with CCTV, would people flock to them? Nope - people don't flock to ANY bank. They sign up when they are young and for most people that' s it - the very thought of moving banks fills most people with dread and inertia
  8. As I say they are on camera already - let's say they do you at HSBC on LL and then peg it up to the PLough/Lloyds TSB cashpoint - I'm guessing there are several cameras which have already caught them and would easily identify them. What's missing are the people resources to review and then act on the footage - something which will only get worse as more and more CCTV is deployed.
  9. isn't it possible it was the same incident? But it is common enough these days - I don't think CCTV is the answer either. 1) It's expensive - we will get charged somewhere for it 2) every cashpoint? How practical is that? 3) CCTV is already capturing these people somewhere between fleeing the scene and using the card somewhere else 4) they would just adapt measure to obscure faces near a cashpoint. Admittedly this might alert you to their presence but you should already be doing that anyway
  10. Essex does have nearly half a million more people tho
  11. " usual suspects " who would they be? I saw Chase Dulwit getting a bit hot and bothered but who else? "many on here are so far up themelves " - based on what?
  12. Nope I'd agree with every word otta Only caveat is, in a practical level, where would it leave el pibe when he moves there? As someone born and raised there I know how hard it is for locals to do (and goes without saying plenty locals not racist). Maybe it needs at outsider to do it Or maybe I'll take a look myself
  13. I can see something/someone else being shot in ED
  14. we did the ones at Dulwich Hospital and didn't bother with anything else - thought they were very good and when various bits and pieces happened during actual labour we didn't panic as we felt up to speed By all means book extra classes if you wish, but don't feel the free ones at the hospital aren't enough
  15. The absolute balls-to-the-wall commitment Gerry Francis shows to that hair style deserves an award of some kind doesn't it? Years and years of history, empires come and go, much less fashions, and yet he hangs in there. In public no less!
  16. Don't forget this video in budgens/londis
  17. Not sure why so many people using this thread (about potential new business) to have a pop at g and b I miss it. Bag policy or no (and I fell fouls of that more than once. I blamed myself not them tho ) Anyway. To the new business. Best of luck to whoever.
  18. Hmmm that's not an eating place tho Uplands something or other?
  19. In the gutter looking up at the stars?
  20. Crime watch you say? Jill dando you say? http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,308723,309694#msg-309694
  21. Not quite what she said - whatever her attributes, pithiness wasn't one of them - but it's close enough http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/thatcher.asp
  22. I'm going to claim that last one as a result of new labour legislation than anything maggie did Legislation tht was opposed by Tories at the time if I recall
  23. Sorry MM - I didn't make myself understood I put a ? at the end of "one of us" to indicate she was divisive - ie it mattered to her if decisions affected "us" or "them". "Us" in this case meaning only those who supported her, not "we, the people"
  24. look at all the women she made part of her cabinet -ok, just the one what about all the Tory women standing up in parliament today to say a few words? - umm ok, not such a good example either A pioneer would suggest she took a lot of the pain, but advanced the cause. That doesn't really appear to have happened Jury is in on Castle and Thatcher as "doing well" but as for Theresa May I'd say it's too early to say she has "done well" (I'm guessing you mean Theresa the MP, and not Teresa May the glamour model. Ahem)
