  1. dogs have plenty of off-lead time in the park, but as others have said, a cat, fox or other stimulus can make any dog forget his manners and make him a danger to himself, traffic or others. My dog does not like being 'investigated' by other canines when on-lead and if this had happened to him it would have turned into a big fight! I do find it very arrogant of people with dogs off lead on the street- they are almost always the dogs that poo without it being picked up by owners too.
  2. it's against by laws for dogs to be off lead in the street. How awful for you. I dread off-lead dogs on the street as my on-lead dog has a right to be not harrassed and would certainly not like any dog to come and 'say hello' while he himself is on the lead.
  3. Harris Boys have only got intakes up to Year 10 so far I believe, so first proper results next year.
  4. Devon street is really easy to use and the guys are very helpful with unloading. You can drive right up alongside the bit you want to dump stuff in. Easy peasy to get to by car.
  5. Daves Dairy is one of lifes treats.
  6. oK Police spoken to and will act if happens again. One of those borderline incidents where it felt nasty at the time but now the girls think they dealt with it adaquately themselves..
  7. sorry Ive removed this post till later as husband really wants us to speak to police before sharing details. Don't panic, no one hurt but unpleasant incident.
  8. which road?
  9. more than a troll attack, a rather dangerous way to start talking about our teenagers if I may say so.
  10. I'm going to a Greenwich event on sunday 29th that ends at 4.30 and a gig at the Hob in Forest Hill at 7.30. Am I being unrealistic in thinking I am going to get there on time without having a nervous breakdown? In non Olympic times this would be a 20 minute car journey. I am even thinking of parking in Telegraph Hill and bus-ing it. Is that idiotic?
  11. any idea at around what sort of time it will be coming through?
  12. my thoughts to the victim at this appalling time. Didn't a lady come on here a few weeks ago to warn thata man had put his hand over her mouth as she approached her front door but then ran off, in the same bit of east Dulwich? I wonder if the two incidents are connected? found it http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,862611,page=1

  15. I have really enjoyed these brilliant and interesting programmes. London deserves a second series!
  16. so what did you do?
  17. that's right, no original features.
  18. We have just taken the 1950's fireplace off the dining room and found the original large white tiles from the range at the back, encasing the large square hole. Not only that, but at the side is a pile of art nouveau tiles, assume these belong to the fireplace that replaced the range- when cookers came in- but before the 50's gas fire. The owner like me probably couldnt resist hanging onto things and rather than throw them away, left them behind the fireplace just in case. Hoping to reincorporate them back into fireplace somewhere. After all these years we have just knocked the dining room (morning room?)and kitchen into one, the space is huge!Trying to preserve the original spirit though.
  19. if it has totally fallen apart, perhaps you can force it with the cream choc icing mixture into something to contain it like a jelly mould.
  20. Nigella Lawson has a recipe for a chocolate cake that doesnt turn into a disaster if it falls apart. Its her celebration cake. Have not got it to hand, but the icing is what sticks it together. One 100mg bar of darkest chocolate. Heat some cream, not to boiling, double I think, and drop into it the chocolate, chopped into finest bits. Then electric whizz with whisk till you have a thick glutonous chocolate creamy mess. Pour this over the cake, perhaps pushing cake into right shape and filling cracks, it should stick it together. good luck!
  21. afraid I bottled it in the end and drove and didnt drink. But had a brilliant time anyway. look forward to being better connected in december.
  22. Has anyone worked out a good swift public transport link to Stoke Newington - or even Clapton side of it? from ED or PR? Night out tommorow and loth to drive! thanks!
