  1. I picked up the SLP this morning and thought the interviewer was very positive - and CWALD came across very well in an "extraordinary interviewer" My guess was correct as well ;-)
  2. I'm surprised no-one has yet. PeckhamGateCrasher did her curry proud - very impressive 7 of us arrived bang on 8 and tucked into a range of breads, poppadums and assorted lamb and chicken dishes Not a lot of note-taking going on to be honest. It was a really good evening and flew by but I confess to being disappointed, just a little bit, with my dish. Some people will say it's always been like this but I remember when the sauces had a bit more zing about them at TN. It wasn't poor by any means and I'll be back but in the meantime I'm looking forward to trying some of the other venues 7.5 out of 10 Several of us went on to Liqourice afterwards for several Mocha cocktails.. lush
  3. in other news, I see the old dear is at it again Moz (Irish parents, resident in US and Italy) and them bleedin foreigners Quote: "Although I don't have anything against people from other countries, the higher the influx into England the more the British identity disappears. So the price is enormous. Travel to England and you have no idea where you are. It matters because the British identity is very attractive. I grew up into it and I find it very quaint and amusing. Other countries have held on to their basic identity, yet it seems to me that England was thrown away." Leaving aside that other countries take proportionally more immigrants than the UK - sorry moz, the ENGLISH - England has lost it's identity a long time ago to faceless US style shopping malls (among other things). Which is fine and dandy of that's what people want, but no point blaming East Europeans
  4. of all the quotes on here it's this one that sticks the most on so many levels this annoys me - sorry Jeremy. Firstly the assumption that housing SHOULD be a commodity just like anything else rather than one of life's essentials (doesn't have to be owned - higher house prices mean higer rental - as a rule). Secondly - just because house prices are high it doesn't mean THE people (not SOME people) are prepared, or able to pay the price. So many people own more than one home when others own none, (ie people with a surfeit of money) pushing prices up further suggests something is wrong. And there is no point telling nurses, teachers and whoever to get a better-paid job now is there?
  5. snorky's post says all that needs to be said CPZ or no CPZ? local residents parking or commuters? Council not doing enough/too much? All of this is tinkering at the periphery - too many people. too many cars. not enough parking spaces But wait what's this, more and more people coming on to the roads every year?? How come so few people are prepared to think ahead a little bit on this one? If you give up using the car, you will use the local shops MORE not less - a good thing for the area no?
  6. tonight it be I am hoping to make EDT by 7:15 (80% chance) but if I'm late I'll go straight to TN And boy am I looking forward to it :))
  7. it should happen automatically - usual reason for not happening is that you are not logged in?
  8. yep - they are all scientologists too
  9. AL&Em Further down the list of threads on the same page you posted there is a longish thread about same Click here to go directly Filming outside Budgens
  10. Definitely agree about the 185 - but I think that's the material combined with engine design. Not EVERY 185 can smell of genuine puke surely? BUt every one I get on has that smell
  11. I had no idea everyone was so.... out of control! First and only time in 15 years was I ill recently but I managed to make it back indoors first
  12. indeed - it's called Ashes to Ashes (do you see what they did there?) and is set in the 80s (again, see what they did there?) Simm isn't in it, but I believe the rest of the cast are back
  13. "and on radio Norwich that was Japan, with Laahf eeen Talkyo"
  14. oops spadetown boy I honestly did mean to put a © GR at the end of that post but got distracted - well spotted tho
  15. The full M&S thread here: M&S in LL? Would be better to post replies on that one, rather than start a second...
  16. Jah: I know, I know... but the warning was there! Maurice: I'm beginning to think you aren't a real person, but an automated response system with a limited vocabulary and set of parameters. Much like SPECIALRELATIONSHIP on this board here: Comment is Free
  17. Worried more about daughter's opinion than general public.... embarrasing rather than fatal *ponders* oooh - really?
  18. It is Birmingham officially isn't it? But Sheffield has become my second city
  19. not a member?? sort it out MP. It's a fine place and the cheapest selection of DVDs for rent (for a week) I have come across
  20. well, we can say what you are like now CWALD :)-D your past is still a mystery to us.... for a little while longer anyway. That bad?
  21. EDA nice one! >:D< By "up to date" I was guessing that you knew what I meant - but re-reading it I think you mean spoiler-wise in the show itself? Ok - but don't say I didn't warn you: Why I went off Earl It has spoiled it for me and I have watched 2 episodes since I found out only to sit there the whole time going "noooooooo"
  22. Bulger comparisons aside, the premise reminded me also of the Kevin Bacon film The Woodsman which was also fairly tough (albeit in a buffed-up Hollywood way*) (note to Maurice - that's not me being anti-American, that's me pointing out the way Hollywood has to sanitise films to get them in theatres, k? k )
  23. The ongoing emptiness does bother me - I can only assume a favourable lease negotiated long ago, unsustainable when it's up for renewal I've never had a bad time there but the food is, well it's not great and prone to being ridiculously salty. It has served well but if I was the owners and wanted to stay there I would shorten the menu, get some good mexican dishes on there and try and attract more punters
  24. sorry Tillie. I missed it - fully planned to watch it, then record it when I realised I would be out and then forgot that as well. It sounds like it's the sort of the thing that will be repeated on More 4 fairly shortly so I'll watch it then
  25. Maurice I'm not angry - I'm just fed up of your childishness "you and your lot" go on then, show how I am constantly putting America down. have a good dig around, you won't find it. I might criticise the current US administration but then so do plenty of American people And who exactly is "my lot"
