  1. I really think an apology - or very convincing rebuttal - is in order. If we get that, and the good feedback continues, then I'm sure I'll give it a go...
  2. There's a large soft play at Peckham Pulse.
  3. Just posting another recommendation for Friddles. Ordered a cake following the numerous recommendations on here, and it was a definite hit. Can't wait to get home tonight to devour the leftovers.
  4. In my experience the Sunday buffets are always exactly as you describe... sorry looking food, all tastes the same, probably sitting there all day, padded with huge amounts of onion. TBH I'm surprised you expected anything different, Sue!
  5. When's buzzard season?
  6. I think Peroni is piss. But fox has a point, all big supermarkets have a decent selection of beer, at a reasonable price, to suit most tastes. I like HB&B, but only for an occasional treat.
  7. I think it's the possibly right decision too, from what I've heard. He acted like an idiot and an absolute bastard, but if she was able to not only consent, but tell him what she wanted him to do, then I think it was reasonable for him to assume it was consensual sex.
  8. I quite like the pebble idea, you can also get pebble style mosaic tiles for an easier job. Bamboo is a nice alternative to wood (more waterproof). Especially if you get the more fancy/rustic finish, rather than the cheaper stuff that looks lime laminate. Also white hexagonal mosaic with a black border looks nice... kind of 'old school'...
  9. They're very popular in Japan too...

  11. Jules-and-Boo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > there's an incident where one clown was severely beaten for trying to scare someone. A quick google shows at least four such incidents. I don't like saying anyone 'deserves' to be beaten up, but... hardly surprising, is it?
  12. As others have said, I'd just remove the stuff. If no basket/bag is available, pile it on top of the machine. Out of interest, does anybody have their own washing machine in their flat? Or is it against the building rules? I didn't even realise shared laundry rooms were a thing in this country, I thought it just happened on US Sitcoms.
  13. TBH both Cote and Le Chardon are on similar ground, it's simple bistro type food at a similar price. I like the interior and ambience in Le Chardon (and sometimes the food). The ideal scenario would be if they trimmed down the menu, and concentrated on the quality and service a little bit more. But looks like it's probably too late.

My wife's brother - in his bachelor days - would sometimes order a couple of large pizzas from Pizza Hut, and it would last him a couple of days. He'd leave them on the side (unrefrigerated) and eat it cold.

Yep, couldn't agree more. Would be nice to have something unique. But as Mick Mac says... it'll probably be OKish, and at least it's another choice locally. Hopefully should be open all day, so good for those of us with little kids who want to eat at 5pm or whatever.
  16. The Real Greek is pretty boring, but probably better than having two Jaflongs.

    Clowns

Once it becomes pass? in a couple of weeks (and no longer worth the risk of arrest) the clowns will be gone. Unlike the clown leading the opposition...
  18. Spending a while in warmer climes over winter, KK.
  19. Is the laser safe to use on the old sack and crack area?
  20. DirtyBox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Why does running a business selling goods you want to buy make them "greedy" and "profiteering"? It doesn't... it's just that Grok cannot resist an opportunity to be unpleasant and talk crap.

Nunsuch Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I was directed to this thread from Twitter where > it has been referred to has 'small minded' and > ''ridiculous' I think if you read the thread properly, the majority of people are fairly reasonable and open-minded. Then two or three posters who have already made their minds up and are openly prejudiced. Which is a shame, but unfortunately probably a fair cross section of how people feel.
  22. The other option is to buy a wedge to put under the seat - but this will only work with belted seats, not isofix.
  23. I also bought a Joie car seat and planned to use it rear-facing. But because the rear seat of the car is very sloped, it just wouldn't recline enough, and our girl's head would always flop forwards. So we have no choice but to use it forward facing.
  24. A restaurant/pub that does a decent steak is not really the same as a proper steak restaurant. With a choice of dry-aged cuts, seared to a char over hot charcoal..
  25. > storm in tea cup prob over in minute That's kind of what I think too... pretty much wherever you are in the country, travellers are just an occasional part of life. They pitch up, everyone gets all upset, and before you know it they've moved on (the clue's in the name). But always sad to see the prejudices confirmed.
