Yep - my mum always gets stuff from charity shops for the kids. Or also ask in the family room classifieds section here for any unwanted toys (offer a small amount, bottle of wine, donation to charity, etc). Both my daughter (2.5) and my niece (5 I think) LOVE playing with dolls and prams... despite efforts to give them gender neutral toys, it's just what they seem to like. Also shopping/supermarket toys, the VTech "laptop" toys. And obvious things like crayons, simple jigsaw puzzles, balloons, bubbles. Plenty of books.

Ice cream with granola... or boiled potatoes with proper mayonnaise.. these both sound pretty posh to me. But hot cross bun with salami is certainly a curve ball.

I don't think I'd bother. Maybe worth doing in the future, if you're planning on re-doing your kitchen, and can steal 1-2ft of space from the kitchen.

These puns are starting to grate...

Takeaway curry, eaten straight from the container. Naan bread to mop up the sauce and oil.

Seems like a reasonable answer, rendel. If everyone who didn't become a manager within two years resigned... you'd have a pretty small team left.

Looking for a very sunny bar/pub/caf? in ED

Yep, I think it's absolutely fine as long as you're considerate... buy food/drink, don't take too much space, etc. -

Still, they seemed happy to be there and playing on stage, and they sounded good. Ran into Guy a few years later when he was living round these parts, fixing sash windows for a living. Way more lucrative than music, I dare say. -
I think you've answered your own question. It's only fun if you enjoy painfully farcical comedy. Why anyone would want to be the "apprentice" of someone responsible for launching so many complete, utter turkeys is beyond me. Totally losing his share of the PC market within just a couple of years... then a diabolical games console, a disastrous PDA, the ridiculous emailer phone, the bizarre anti-wrinkle device. The list goes on. And let's not forget the whole Spurs episode..

Travellers (no longer) on Dulwich Hospital site
Jeremy replied to Marjoram's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
A shame that this happens, after several people spoke out against stereotyping travellers. -
I would expect Corbyn to look down on such frivolous luxuries, with sincere disapproval. When he was interviewed by Mumsnet, they asked him what his favourite biscuit was. The answer : "I'm totally anti-sugar on health grounds, so eat very few biscuits. But if forced to accept one, it's always a pleasure to have a shortbread."

Not my favourite place, but The Plough has a conservatory. -
Scruffy Mummy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I can't see the general public > being happy with a football pitch being set up on > Goose Green itself - so many people use that for > walking dogs, picnics etc. But in terms of concentration of people... the playground section is used much more intensively than Goose Green itself, so I don't see why it shouldn't be a bit more evenly distributed.

TBH I have no idea whether travellers are especially likely to steal scaffolding/metal or not. But Ryu should know by now how this forum works... there's no way you're going to get away with this sort of generalisation.

Older kids playing football, and little kids/toddlers on swings and slides is just fundamentally a bad combination. Should be a completely separate area. Perhaps on the bit of ground on the other side of the path, or on goose green itself.

It's important that they have a choice... as such I'd argue that education is essential.

Yes, Kings won't want them back - they didn't want mine back in Feb (or whatever it was). If it's not Kings - worth calling I guess. It does seem silly though... surely easy enough to clean them up and put on new rubber feet..

Not sure if I've observed more pedestrians dashing across the road, but I've certainly noticed a lot more minicab drivers overtaking in unwise places..

Have only eaten there once TBH. I wouldn't rule out going back... maybe if I was craving for sushi and didn't want to travel. The tempura was OKish. Wouldn't order a meat dish again though.

I reckon that's a bit harsh on Wuli, edcam... the Sichuan stuff is pretty decent IMO. Yama Momo on the other hand.. seems a bit "mutton dressed as lamb" to me. Bog standard food on pimped-up plates. Will keep that in mind about Crooked Well, Bob. Not actually been there in a couple of years.

I completely agree with Penguin and RPC... the best method is not to have any valuables on display. So don't walk along using your phone. This isn't "victim blaming", it's just a simple precaution. While perhaps some martial arts could be useful in a one-on-one situation (taught effectively and practised regularly), I think for women it really needs to be backed up with some pretty serious strength training. Also, when faced with multiple assailants, or someone with a weapon, or as in this case wearing crash helmets... basically you will never, ever stand a chance. Running away from a mugger is not necessarily a great idea either, unless you're very, very fast/fit. Better to just hand your stuff over.
