  1. You're kidding me! They don't offer online shopping? Surely that can't be right? (if it is, I apologise for my previous comment...)
  2. What's the problem with the word 'mental'? This kind of over-sensitivity drives me up the wall. men?tal 1    [men-tl] adjective 1. of or pertaining to the mind: mental powers; mental suffering. 2. of, pertaining to, or affected by a disorder of the mind: a mental patient; mental illness. 3. providing care for persons with disordered minds, emotions, etc.: a mental hospital. 4. performed by or existing in the mind: mental arithmetic; a mental note. 5. pertaining to intellectuals or intellectual activity.

  4. I agree that this law is long overdue. But it should be accompanied by financial penalties for properties left unoccupied for long periods of time.
  5. The airlines always suggest arriving far too early. 1h30 is easily long enough for euro flights, 1hr should be fine if you have no luggage and check in online. We usually leave 2hrs for long haul, but even that is overkill to be honest.
  6. EMR, how much dooes J20 normally cost? Soft drinks are almost the same price as beer in pubs these days... have been for quite some time.
  7. If you've not had much interest, even after reducing the price, it sounds as though the price might still be too high...
  8. Are two bots try to converse with each other? Is this going to be like War Games, when the supercomputer (WOPR) plays tic-tac-toe against itself, eventually realising how futile it is?

Maybe, if you're the kind of person that wants immediate closure. You can just answer all those questions by simply saying "god did it". Seems like rather simplistic thinking to me, but each to their own.
  10. H, I thought it was obvious. If you use one of these personal shoppers, the store assumes that you're going to buy a lot of stuff (several complete outfits) and spend a lot of cash. So it's worth their while paying someone ?15 p/h to spend a bit of time with you and get you to buy as much stuff as possible.
  11. Higher = colder. Lower atmospheric pressure innit.

  13. Shorty, is that photo from the 1920s then?
  14. You've lost me. Echo Beach?
  15. Yeah, he's for real. Not a made-up character. And I'm sure he is reading. I knew it was too much to ask to let sleeping dogs lie...
  16. I'm not a fan of those heaters either. Or smoking, for that matter. But as long as we have pub gardens, smokers, and the smoking ban, I don't think outdoor heating is going to go away.
  17. I don't think you've checked the maps, have you David?
  18. Rosie, John's just saying that part of the area which is included under the PNAAP scheme is in ED (of course not Rye Lane itself). So therefore the scheme could perhaps be legitimately discussed in the "General ED issues" section...
  19. I couldn't find the map on Eileen's PNAAP link. Seems strange that it would include places like piermont green.
  20. I'm firmly in the "pro" camp. Having to travel to Switzerland, as well as being expensive, will probably necessitate the involvement of the family for most patients. I believe it the such a service should be available locally, and on the NHS.
  21. Reminds me of the traffic warden stunt in Trigger Happy TV - where Dom Jolly would give parking tickets to people stuck in traffic, and even a taxi (which he had hailed himself). It was funny because you could almost imagine it happening.
  22. Problem is that the Chinese karaoke places tend to have a pretty poor choice of English songs, compared to somewhere like Karaoke Box.
  23. Voyageur - smartarsee comments? Come on, we're not that bad. MikePala was obviously some kind of bot, the sentences made no sense. Sometimes it pays to be cynical, you know...
