  1. Seems like a no-brainer to me too. As long as the new properties are distributed throughout London, and not just clustered together in the poorer, run down areas.
  2. El Pibe - does that mean you normally just go straight from breakfast to dinner on a Sunday?
  3. A guy at work was hypnotised to stop him biting his nails. I think it worked, because now he sits at his desk all day clipping them.

  5. To back up what UDT mentioned - let's not forget that the high-tech industry is a key area of the Indian economy... perhaps they see money to be made in the future, with the increasing commercialization of space. Any why focus on a ?50M space program, ignoring a defence budget in the tens of billions?
  6. India, despite huge growth, is a still very poor country, with hundreds of millions living in conditions inconceivable to most westerners. The aid is justifiable. But yes, it is disappointing that the government would choose to spend money on a space program when people are starving, and the infrastructure is in such a bad state.
  7. Looks like James is doing a great job here in helping the local residents to get their voices heard. It's a serious issue that impacts quality of life for those living nearby.
  8. I dunno... I'm kind of with James on this one. Applying for a late license in a totally residential area does seem rather selfish to me.
  9. I was recently considering buying a property which had been underpinned, but decided against it. Mainly because I thought it would be a pain to sell again. Turns out the house stayed on the market for ages (despite the huge size and decent location), with several offers falling through because of mortgage issues. Glad I didn't go for it.
  10. Dulwich Frier, between the station and Sainsburys, is a very decent old-school chippy.
  11. Enough of this hippy mumbo jumbo. Destroy them.
  12. A one-off party in the park. During the daytime. Hardly the worst thing that ever happened.
  13. A masterfully delivered backhanded compliment!
  14. Surely if they refuse to give a refund, you are within your rights to continue to take your child to the classes. Simple.

  16. Yeah, it's still going to be a big event with plenty of interest. And hopefully plenty of medals for GB!
  17. You should introduce him to Louisa.
  18. The paralympics are two weeks away. In all fairness I don't think the public are expected to be as interested in the paralympics as we are in the main event. The olympics features athletes competing at the peak of human ability, which the paralympics cannot really claim. But that's not to say that it's not a huge acheivement to get there, and talk of 'courage' shouldn't be dismissed as hype.
  19. Mo Farah's average speed during a 10K race is over 20km/h. At the gym today, I found out that I can maintain that speed for approximately 40 seconds.
  20. Loz - I'd never heard of her before, and she sang completely out of tune!
  21. Far too much guitar? No. Emeli Sande, Pet Shop Boys, Jessie J, Fatboy Slim, Tinie Tempa, Taio Cruz, Spice Girls, One Direction, Take That... all guitar-free as far as I could tell. I'm not saying it was a complete cross-section of musical styles, but neither was it heavily weighted towards guitar music.

I was thinking the same thing. Nobody wanted to hear that shitty song in the first place, and he couldn't even be bothered to sing it live. He looked like your fat boss dancing at the office party. What a shambles. Ray Davies... good song, but he struggled with it. Kaiser Chiefs did a surprisingly passable version of Pinball Wizard.
  23. That does indeed sound like a specialist requirement. Good luck in your search!
