  1. David, it's a wind-up.

As far as I can work out, Le Moulin is basically a 70s theme restaurant (but I do actually quite like it). Curry house is a good idea, but not sure East Dulwich is ready for such exotic fayre.
  3. As ed_pete says, Vale St is recycling only, not particularly useful for things like DIY rubbish. The Devon St depot is frickin awesome.

  5. El Pibe : total homicide / suicide / death by misadventure stats would be more useful, regardless of the method.
  6. I'm not really a big fan of ramen anyway, but Wagamama is really not very good. An actual Japanese restaurant would do very well though, if they had the right balance of quality and price.
  7. Zucca on Bermondsey Street is very good. Pizarro is excellent too, and while they don't usually take reservations, they have a couple of private rooms which I believe can be booked. Elliot's Cafe in Borough Market is decent, and a bit more modestly priced. I've also heard very good things about Applebee's (also in Borough Market), but I've not been personally. Bit of a curve-ball perhaps, but I really liked Tito's Peruvian restaurant (although my wife was rather unimpressed).

    Thoughts...

If it's possible to downsize and live mortgage free, I'd do that. I don't think a tenant and a baby would be a good combination, and if you're not working full I think the security of owning your place outright would be pretty appealing.

    DALLAS

El Pibe Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > She ? Victoria Principal ? was the first woman I > ever really loved, and it might not be the same. You can say that again.
  10. Huguenot Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > being burgled is not a life threatening situation Exactly. If disturbed, a burglar will almost certainly run. They will want to get as far away as possible before the police arrive. They're not there to assault you or your family, you don't need to kill anyone to protect yourself - it would just be about revenge and bloodlust. (Although of course it's totally understandable that you might threaten them with whatever improvised weapon you might have to hand).

    DALLAS

Nah. I'm way under 45, but remember Dallas very clearly...
  12. Of course, you're right. No normal person wants to kill another man. It's a bit of a silly topic. Why would you want to own a gun, anyway?!
  13. ...and hit him with a table leg once he'd turned his back on you.
  14. Seems about par for the course. Cheaper than the chorizo scotch egg at the Victoria Inn.
  15. Just about the worst thing you could say is "differently abled". Just about the most patronising and condescending term I've ever heard.
  16. rrr is right. If you stop, sometimes it can be hard to get going again.
  17. Cows might quite like eating seaweed.
  18. Could we use sea water for irrigation? Even if it meant growing different crops (or indeed GM crops).
  19. No... why would a burglar threaten your kids? (Unless your children were carrying table legs of course, which would obviously change things).
  20. I think it's only fair that we understand what options are on the table.
  21. If in corridor : leg of chaise longue If in large room (e.g. opened-up thru-lounge or kitchen with side return extension) : leg of table
  22. That is a good question. Perhaps you have an Ikea table lying around, waiting to be assembled. Or perhaps your intruder would be kind enough to wait while you found your tools and removed a leg?
  23. We're not farmers, we don't have shotguns in our homes. And pistols are illegal. Surely a more realistic question would be whether you'd be willing to whack someone over the head with a blunt object (cricket bat, hammer, table leg, etc).
  24. I think almost everyone understands the term as a hospital which treats mental illness, not a hospital which treats patients who are "mental". The thought wouldn't have even occurred to me if it wasn't for you! Oh well.
  25. Peckham and East Dulwich are close to each other, but have quite distinct and separate centres.
