  1. Each to their own. People have done far worse things in the pursuit of beauty.
  2. Take a look to see whether any other properties on the road have a roof terrace. If there is a precedent, then I think the council are more likely to be lenient.
  3. Get a few different valuations. If one agent values it at a price significantly above the others, it's likely to be inaccurate.

Plenty of people don't know what FG is, but I'd certainly expect someone who attempts to start an anti FG campaign to know. If a pate was made from Foie Gras, the menu would say so. It would be like serving a white truffle risotto and advertising it as mushroom. > Amazing when it takes a vegan to set up a butcher day isnt it? It's amazing anyone would attempt to set up a butcher day, when there are queues out of the door every Saturday.
  5. That's quite some building. I was wondering what the large building was in the background of your Dulwich Park winter scene. Now I know!
  6. North Korea most certainly has immigration. Although it is rarely voluntary.
  7. Half of the SE postcodes come out as East Dulwich. But who the hell is "Big Sean"?
  8. Complete stop to immigration? Name me one country in the world which has this policy.
  9. KK was sticking his neck out a bit. There is of course no evidence to suggest that the victim here is involved in gang culture. It's not a deduction I would have made. But the really worrying stuff in this thread is the implication that Afghans are violent, racist people who go around beating the crap out of innocent black teenagers for the hell of it. People should be pulling LadyD up on this gross generalisation.
  10. Unfortunately it's just not safe to walk along talking on your phone, especially after dark. Really best to keep it in your pocket or bag. The proliferation of devices worth 500 quid or so has undoubtedly made the situation worse.
  11. Of course I know LB is not quite in the city. But even doing the last leg on foot/tube/bus, it is still a better commute than Putney! I totally agree it's not very well connected. But that's one of the reasons its cheaper than otherwise equivalent areas of zone 2.
  12. Saus01, I don't understand where you're coming from. A 12 min train to London bridge means that ED is a much quicker commute to the city than Putney.
  13. I was also going to suggest West Bridgford! The city, like most, is rather mixed, but it is definitely one of the nicer areas.
  14. Beats a bowl of boring old ramen any day.
  15. They'd all get knicked or smashed up down here.

    OK... just checking!

  19. You won't get your money back in ED, I wouldn't have thought. The basement conversions I've seen have been quite dark with only one window, and feel cramped due to the low ceilings. Buyers are likely to consider it an "extra" space rather than proper living space, so the standard price per sq ft won't be accurate.

George Micheal at the closing ceremony? Miming to his crappy new single? You are taking the piss, right?

  22. Ren, you gotta stop all this "libelous" stuff. Carter is an anonymous poster on here, he cannot possibly be a victim of slander!
  23. The Overground route will take you east and west of Denmark Hill (Surrey Quays one way, Clapham Junction the other).

    random stuff

I think it's mainly due to the fact that it's only a thin piece, therefore high surface area, so the heat dissipates quickly. That's got to be much more relevant than the specific heat capacity, right?
  25. Surely a quick inspection of your car (or even photos) should sort this out pretty quickly?
