  1. My experience is similar to MrBen's - gave up with Melbourne Grove because of the silly phone consultations and lack of actual doctors. DMC was good at first, but the waiting times have become absurd. I'm going to have to sign up with a private GP in the city - I feel I've been left with no other choice. "Thank God for the NHS"?? You must be joking.
  2. I wouldn't even bother watching Ward vs Cleverly, it would be totally one-sided. I don't think Cleverly's ever even fought anybody at world level before. The guy he was supposed to fight, Ryan Coyne, is unbeaten, but not considered a top flight operator by any means. Cleverly needs to leave Warren asap, he's becoming a laughing stock. KK, I'll happily give you 10:1 on the Klitschko fight...
  3. I did have a route... it's something like this: - Start at Peckham Rye (corner of East Dulwich Rd). Go round edge of the Rye, via Homestall/Colyton Rd. - Go to Dulwich Park via Dunstans Rd. Do a 3/4 lap of the park an exit at Dulwich Village. - Go north through Dulwich Village, onto Red Post Hill, and Herne Hill Road - Go round outside of Ruskin Park, exit by Denmark Hill - Go to Goose Green via Grove Lane / Dog Kennel Hill You may have to tinker with the route around the parks on MapMyRun to get exactly 10K. But it takes in three local parks, and has some killer hills - particularly Dunstans/Underhill Rd.
  4. Nette, your first and second wishes sound very achievable. I dare say the third is doable.
  5. Well rumours had been going round for years. I always thought that he was just an eccentric oddball, until I saw the Louis Theroux episode... nothing about that man came as a shock to me after that.
  6. Yes, please let it be true. I hate facepainting.

  8. I'm not saying the topic isn't worthy of discussion, and I'm not saying that animals aren't important. But every time somebody wants to sell or rehome a bloody cat, we seem to have a debate about it. But as if that wasn't enough, we're now re-posting other people's cat adverts from other websites so we can discuss those too. Post about whatever you want, but don't be surprised if someone points out when you're covering the same old ground.
  9. I think woodrot's point is that we've had a disproportionate number of threads similar to this. Should pet owners should be more responsible? Yes. Does the subject warrant the number (and intensity) of debates we've had on these pages? No way.
  10. fuzzyboots Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hope I don't fit into the moronic category. ;) Hopefully not! You don't sound like it. I do really think that if owners are unable to stop their dogs chasing after dogs (and other animals) and potentially hurting them, then they should on a muzzle or lead at all times.
  11. I really liked it, but did think that the third act was rather un-bond-like.
  12. I'm sure some bull breed dogs are well socialised and good with other dogs, but the point is that when you get a bad one, they are much more capable of causing serious injury than most other dogs. And unfortunately you do get a lot of bad ones, due to the disproportionate number of moronic owners.
  13. There must be an equivalent of godwin's law for "the bankers" by now.

But if the built in DVD and freeview work fine, then it can't be the cable. It could just be that the heads are badly worn and the VCR is reaching the end of its life. I'm sure the OP could pick up another one for free on Freecycle or somewhere.

    Hoopers ...

Would be a shame if it went. But if people don't use these pubs, they won't survive.
  18. Haha... yeah there is actually a scene in Taken 2 where he shoots a random policeman dead for no apparent reason, and just says "there was no choice". Fair enough, then. Anyway, apparently there is actually going to be a Taken 3 - seriously. Although your plot sounds good nashoi, I do hope they're going to send the daughter to Iraq, to rescue her boyfriend who has been kidnapped by Al Qaeda. She will of course wear a burqa as a cunning disguise. Neeson will give her krav maga instruction via smoke signals.
  19. How about Fast & Furious 5, have you guys seen that?
  20. Yeah, when I said that it would be attainable earlier in the morning, I meant quite a bit earlier than 7:30. Everything will already be completely chocca before 8.
  21. I saw "Taken 2", and thought it was a brilliantly acted, realistic, and gritty study of how a family unit might cope with an abduction scenario.

  23. 35 mins sounds very attainable earlier in the morning. As Vickster says, travelling at peak time will take a lot longer.
  24. I dunno. Snobbery/discrimination is unpleasant either way, but there is something particularly distasteful about those in a privileged position looking down on those less fortunate.
