  1. Ask your wife to stop locking the bedroom door
  2. I share Seabag's problem... although I'm not sure if I could get away with such a drastic solution (i.e. "moving out")
  3. Never used a Chromebook so couldn't comment. IMO iOS/Android devices tend to become defunct rather quickly, so would avoid as your main computer. Macs are good (I have one) but overpriced, and I'd only recommend if you need some specialist software. Meanwhile my 6 year old Win7 machine is still pretty nippy, and is more stable than my MacBook Pro. So I would definitely go for windows (although the surface pro is out of your budget, and I suspect overkill for your needs). ED - NAGAIUTB : isn't OneDrive free?
  4. I'm just resigned to the fact that I'll look like a wheezing, gasping mess when exercising. "Statement prints" indeed!! Still, I suspect they know their market...
  5. Joshua is highly overrated. But is nevertheless the favourite - Martin's a paper champ who beat his only noteworthy opponent by default.

    Rock anthems

Quite a few old-school metal bands were partial to 12/8 time signatures, but sped up to a sort of galloping "diggidy-diggidy-diggidy-diggidy"... but outside the "rock anthems" topic, I suspect.

Difficult to pump your fist in the air in compound time, I agree.

    Rock anthems

I guess I consider a "rock anthem" - as you mentioned in your O.P. - as something you would have heard on Top Gear in the 90s while Jeremy Clarkson accelerated past the camera. So anthemic (and potentially cheesy) driving rock. We are the champions probably qualifies, but is bordering on rock ballad / power ballad...

    Rock anthems

IMO a "rock anthem" could be anything from The Stones to Metallica... not too fast/heavy but not too slow either... singalong chorus. Probably pretty radio friendly and corny, but nevertheless instantly recognisable from the first note or two. Something I'd associate with commercial music and big stadium shows, fists in the air, etc, rather than anything indie/"alternative"/punk/etc. Sweet Child o Mine I can't get no satisfaction Jump Back in black Bohemian Rhapsody Enter Sandman etc...
  10. Lipstick by the Buzzocks - far superior to the A side, 'Promises'.

I think the M&S flats are a drop in the ocean and the complaints are rather unjustified (and the police station over the road was a four storey building FFS!) But you can only "build, build and build" if you have the infrastructure (particularly public transport) to cope with the increased population.

  13. Attention-seeking misogynistic wannabe stalker loser.
  14. It really depends on the area, LM. Cheaper, previously less popular areas on the outskirts of London are doing well... lots of buyers, sealed bids, etc... think Barking, Sutton, etc.

I know.. 15 years ago a house was probably worth 250K or so. Not sure how much of it is down to ED becoming yuppified (as my Mum said) and how much is down to London property in general going crazy... a bit of both obviously...
  16. I was glad to see that my useful input was appreciated, for once... http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?30,1637693,1637693#msg-1637693
  17. Yep. Too many overpriced properties. Agents trying it on... vendors going with whoever values the property the highest.. The fact your friend's place sold after the price was reduced surely just means it was on at the wrong price to start with.
  18. Hi Brendan. It's comforting to know that some of the EDF'ers have moved on... while some of us are still stuck in groundhog day...
  19. Yeah I was thinking the same... it's almost stalker-like. (not trying to worry you of course, Sue)
  20. Yep, onedrive is pretty convenient - and free.
  21. Grok Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I am not the poster you both are ganging up on So we have two separate misogynistic loser trolls? Great.
  22. Louisa... don't let the lunatic troll cozy up to you...
  23. Yeah it might sound like overkill on the face of it, but bear in mind a) There might be several possible escape routes, through gardens, park, etc b) If you had to apprehend a violent criminal, I'm sure you'd appreciate a bit of backup too c) They clearly needed to catch the scumbag
  24. For under ?500 you'll get the entry level Korg/Roland/etc digital piano. It will be a full-size 76 note job with weighted keys, but you'll either need to put it on a tabletop or pay an extra ?50-?100 for a stand. For a proper all-in one thing that looks vaguely like a piano you'll either need to save up a couple of hundred extra, or go second hand.
  25. Breast feeding in public is "unnecessary"? "The kid can wait until it gets somewhere a bit more private"? And the fact that you have no personal experience of raising children is "irrelevant"? Truly one of the stupidest things I've ever read. Are you actually "grok"?
