  1. The confirmation emails don?t have the name on, you are correct. However you have proof of address with your name on, proof of your ID, and proof of a permit at that address. I?m not saying that without showing the permit you will get in (even though I did), but the council will be aware of any problems because they will be affecting many people. Overall the guys I dealt with where nice guys and they didn?t seem to be looking to hassle anybody unnecessarily, I think they just want to get the job done safely. Let us know how you get on!
  2. Gaslighting the country - been underway a few months now with regard to Covid19, surely.
  3. not sure what this means sandyman. After applying for permit, you get an email confirming the details of the permit (address, car reg no, list of item types you're dumping, allot time slot) - there is an option to print the permit, but you can just show the phone to people at the dump. I wasn't even asked for mine, the chaps at roundabout before dump saw my car reg and knew who I was - likewise inside the dump, they knew from my car reg what I was dumping and advised me what to dump in which bin.
  4. Do you think perhaps the whole show is stage-managed, which is why there's little depth / originality to the questions asked (or that questions are vetted) ?
  5. The owner of the trees.
  6. I think if you have proof of ID (driving licence/passport) and proof of address you'll be fine. Yesterday they only asked to see my ID, they recognised car reg from their records based on permit issued (they know who to expect within each hour). Just take hubby with you if possible (and his ID/bills/bank statement) ?
  7. "...champagne socialists..." UncleGlen used the same expression yesterday ! Is it supposed to mean that unless you are on the breadline / desperately poor you are not allowed to believe in things being done for the benefit of society ?
  8. JohnL, re-read the text you quoted, I don't think so.. next year IS 2021 !
  9. ha ha - that's my words anyway so you'll be needing to keep an eye on me then ! Which is fine, cos I'm harmless.
  10. ?If these proposals were to pass, has the council got a solution for this issue?? Not the Council?s problem, that?ll be a residents problem !!
  11. Don't harbour dark thoughts. It's just some controls in place to ensure residents are spread out through the day, able to maintain distance on the site, site workers are protected while the service is kept available for Southwark.
  12. The problem with the briefings (and with Trump's briefings) is they are not there to provide a service, they are happening to give the impression of providing a service. A lot of time and effort goes into spinning each briefing, regarding the general public as stupid, carefully ignoring key advice from medical advisors, then presenting fiction as fact in a perpetual homage to Franz Kafka. What I'D like to know is what is happening with Brexit. Predictably though, it's no-deal via the back door - Covid being the best 'bad news' to bury other issues under.
  13. And when you do the test, it'll be recorded in Govt statistics as 'two tests', no ?!
  14. Au Contraire keano77. Not nonsense at all. It is well organised and sequenced, with plenty space between cars (about 4 at a time allowed in there I reckon). They have doubled-up on the sections for dumping household waste, garden waste, etc. so that each visitor has a choice of two possible sections to use, to help achieve distancing between visitors. Good for them for figuring a regime that keeps the dump open whilst supporting distancing.
  15. world beating ?! current cabinet couldn't beat an egg.
  16. surely people aren't pooing in the park ? yorksgirl Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > jimlad48 Wrote > > > > Having read a few astronaut books, the > 'ingenious > > device' they use is an adult sized disposable > > nappy! > > Now have much more respect for astronauts. 17. Fair point. AntP2015 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I imagine they aren't opening the toilets as it's > very hard to police their use. 18. And I'm sure there's no flexibility for those poor souls caught short and needing to head for the bushes !
  19. The public loos in the park have been closed for weeks. They should put a sign in the gates because for some people getting caught short is a problem.
  20. pk I don't care what you don't understand. If you wanna know what lindylou was on about in their posts, ask them.
  21. I was saying previously that I didn't think a poster was racially motivated. If you disagree tough shit. If you think someone was being racist report it to whoever you think will listen to your claim. Gotcha moment free zone !
  22. I was saying previously that I didn't think a poster was racially motivated.
  23. I wouldn't dream of trying to explain why other people do things pk, nor what they think is important or otherwise. You could ask them yourself I reckon.
  24. Ultimately BoJo makes final decision on direction, if that's based on advice it doesn't excuse him if he cocks it up. He's the man, he chose/sacked according to who will toe his line. The converse would be to say he's PM, but he follows advice from his team so if it goes wrong they are at fault not him - so he's squeaky clean always. Don't think so !
  25. So there you have it lindylou people calling you racist ! So easy for people to do when not stood in front of you. So lazy. "Oooh, but I never actually SAID the word 'racist', so you can't accuse me of calling you that - are you paranoid ?!". Just like lindylou never said anything racist (or even implying that he/she were in any way racist). This has been on this forum for years, always been very thinly veiled accusations of racism. But to use it now, with this pandemic, is obscene.
