Finally a 'clear directive' from Boris on Covid-19
KidKruger replied to Art Deco Mark's topic in The Lounge
Basically the advice was vague enough that Govt can never be held to account cos it's all down to interpretation. Don't forget the mistakes made already are directing what the govt advises now, a swift change of course (to sensible protective arrangements) would raise too many obvious questions on inconsistency in Govt approach since Feb. Donators, reputation and re-election are surely the key drivers now. -

I'm not sure dogs can be trained to not bark when scared, hungry or lonely.

conscience is when you don't steal because you don't want to because it's not OK. returning something after having stolen it is very slightly above no conscience.

Yes, I just went out to have a look and there is a bunch of people stood out in the middle of Sylvester Road west of Crystal Palace Rd. We heard a big chorus of ?happy birthday? earlier, so I checked if what I thought I could hear was actually happening. No actual 2 m distance he just people standing slightly apart, probably convinced that they are either immune or cannot give or take the infection.

the guy usually based in the phone shop by ED station can replace batteries/screens etc. Perhaps call no. on the shopfront to see if/how he's operating.

Pls make sure that you keep an exact record (if not already). If ever this gets resolved having a catalogue may be useful to demonstrate an overall picture of frequency of occurrences, duration, description of noise and how loud, things heard said through the floor / walls, summary of affect on your home life per occurrence. Plus any measurements of noise you may make. It's labour intensive but very useful when approaching council, landlord, or even the tenants if a proper conversation is ever possible with them.

To be fair to all, I'd say the names of NON-posh people's kids can be just as disturbing. It's not a privilege of only the privileged to name a child with some regrettable mantle. Does Elon Musk count as posh BTW ?

ha ha - the Wealdstone Raider is infamous. He challenged Tyson Fury (and his scheduled opponent) to a scrap at a press conference promoting the fight. Does a fair bit for charity, this guy. malumbu Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Here's a vid of a shouty man. Thanks Robbie Unfortunately I cannot reconcile yesterday's announced 649 daily deaths (or any day's death toll) with the figures in those charts, which seem to show current daily death tolls below 200 ! I'm sure I'm mis-reading something because it's like data for a different event ! Exactly Foxy, so the young people can go out nd spread/contract the disease and pass it on to the more vulnerable. Everyone surely knows how this goes, it's like there's a cull planned...

Missing post since sorting office moved to peckham

What I am saying is that Royal Mail in this instance still act with the entitlement of a state-owned operation, behaving in a way which would destroy another business, yet still get away with it, still have the contract for sorting offices and local mail delivery. The other private companies could never hope to have anywhere near that level of entitlement. -
The top storey windows are all in line. The middle storey windows appear slightly higher to the right, perhaps because the wall they are in is further forward ? According to photo. But top floor in line. fishbiscuits Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > KidKruger Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Top storey windows appear to line-up fine ! > > > The rightmost windows look significantly higher > than the others to me.

It?s unbelievable. If it was DPD, FedEx etc. running the sorting office they couldn?t just hold their hands up and say,?dunno !?. Royal Mail can, and do. Part of the legacy of once being a State service. They have the monopoly on sorting offices and are not fit for purpose. Gotta love the UK. yummumbums Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I?ve got so many parcels missing. Does anybody know where the daily death toll is being reported and whether that toll is actually reported afresh each day ? BBC state the alleged no invariably, but I'm hoping for a better source. Ta.

When parcels are 'going missing' consistently or being delivered to areas 'outside of our jurisdiction' with no recall because 'that area is outside of our jurisdiction' then we have a service not fit for purpose. If this wasn't an ex-Govt operation it wouldn't have the profile it currently benefits from. Somehow, from somewhere, we need professionals brought in to fix the simple task of ensuring letters and parcels follow a process where they end up at the addresses written on them. That's right, the clue is on the front of the letter/envelope, it's written on there, just take it to that place and put it through the letterbox/knock on door and leave parcel with intended recipient. -
Top storey windows appear to line-up fine !

Setting aside funds for anything other than immediate running costs would likely be fantasy for many high st businesses even without an impending pandemic I suspect.

Dictators normally don?t need emotional intelligence to do their job, not part of the job description...!

So basically organised mass theft of parcels. Nice little earner for those involved. What a joke they delivered a tracked parcel to the wrong address then claim they can?t deal with rectifying/investigating. Would be good to get confirmation of address so you could try to recover the parcel. I wonder if the original ebay seller was contacted by whoever ended up with your parcel? -
The windows do line-up don?t they ? fishbiscuits Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Why don't the windows line up?
