  1. I'm not sure lindylou was expressly making a point about one area being more supreme than another area, though I guess it's possible to construe anything if you want. I think it's important in discussions like this to read the words people write, rather than making-up a back story to what they write in order to create a Gotcha moment. alice Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > This Peckham v Dulwich thing has been on this > forum for years. 2. Just to tidy-up here.. Wing Tai Peckham, fish counter does not sell catfish.
  3. Yeah but the question wasn?t ?did Boris cause the pandemic??. The question was ?is Boris fit to lead??. He is not.
  4. Fascinating read.
  5. A bit early, it?s only just summer. Buxton Spring Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > snowflakes
  6. The guy should just step-down, now is a good time - he could explain it's due to recent illness and needing time with new child. He's guaranteed to be Lord Johnson now, so what else to do ? He's loaded (his family is loaded) so surely he's done it all now, try and do something useful with his life like bring up the kid. But that wouldn't suffice for this egotistical oaf.
  7. lindylou - it's easy (and lazy) for people to call grave insults on people over the internet as I'm sure you know (seeing as you're experiencing it !). I'm also concerned that some groups of the population are experiencing higher than average infection (not sure about deaths, but assume it's same proportion for all group ?). Reasons are surely attitude, awareness, social pressure and cultural.
  8. Not fit to lead, IMO wasn't fit to lead before Covid anyway. Bojo's last 'appearance' in the HoC was silly from what I heard on radio, Kier Starmer asking an obvious question about care home protections based on a select committee yesterday where unfortunate truths were aired, BoJo answering a completely different question that was not asked (three times !) and floundering badly while doing so. I can't say that was due to his being not fully recovered from Covid, I don't actually care, he was to me obviously playing with different articulations to play-down a very serious point from Labour. dbboy - I think JoB is genuinely aghast that a person such as BoJo can actually become leader in this country, that so many lies can be told around Brexit with no comeback, that blatant lies can be told during conferences to the public/media with no accountability and he invites callers to air their concerns - some whom agree with JoB, some who don't. Let's be frank, it's hard to find positives with the Govt, it's leadership, Brexit dealings and handling of Covid19. Isn't it ?
  9. pk - I think lindlylou is referencing the collective lack of self-distancing evident around Rye Lane/High St. It's certainly the case, I shop there every few days and it's noticeable (if you're trying to take precautions for yourself). To be fair though, I wouldn't say Lordship Lane is the shining example of how to distance either, people acting clueless there too !
  10. I think I read on another thread (think was here on EDF) that someone had contacted hospitals locally and been told that for several dental complaints they will just remove the tooth at fault. This is to reduce time in the surgery (safety for staff) and save messing about with matching enamel shades and the other cosmetic niceties. At least, that?s the impression I got from the post.
  11. Cheers - missus likes Persian food so will watch this thread with interest.
  12. No ideas for you mancity68, but do Persepolis now prepare and deliver food !!?
  13. they're spearheading the 2nd wave.
  14. absolutely. And why market stalls only there, why not a couple back at the old market place on Underhill Rd !? I hear that was Fridays and Saturdays. Pugwash Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Having grown up in ED from the 1950s- NX Road had > a small market during the week - only about 4 or 5 > stalls - fruit and veg, haberdashery. fish stall > on Fridays - cannot remember the others. 15. Regarding the market, if anyone is interested in the pie van products, I think she's cooking and freezing them for warming-up at home of customers. PM if you want her details.
  16. Rockets what are the checks ? usually I take ID and proof of address, as requested, plus I guess you'll need the permit - anything else ?
  17. Many people round here have ?1m houses they bought for ?150K or less, are not wealthy and would welcome support such as Freedom Passes. Just because the price of their house increased doesn't mean they automatically have funds !
  18. "Does anyone know what we can do to try to stop this happening?" We are powerless. reduced policing and empty streets means a virtual green light for dangerous speed freaks. You could try doing something yourself - at the risk of getting your face filled-in by a disgruntled driver.
  19. Found one solution. Atlantic Breeze fish shop, 34 Railton Rd. FRESH Catfish !
  20. agreed Malumbu, let's cut the families some slack. Or talk to THEM when they inconvenience you.
  21. Many things still not arrived, but due 4th May. Also, a parcel I did not collect in time (kept going to sorting office but queues too long) was 'sent back' to supplier and has, ....wait for it...., 'vanished' without trace. dreadful state of affairs.
  22. you don't need the paper to appreciate the level of speeding, just hang out a while when it's dark on goose green and you'll see plenty of fast lane lemons exceeding 50mph. In fact, by bet is some of these guys are only out for the burn-up on deserted streets. A bad accident will happen, how could it not, these guys are often going too fast to react to an issue arising. bels123 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Extreme speeding is unfortunately on the increase > across London > https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/lockdown-spe > eding-metropolitan-police-bank-holiday-a4434581.ht > ml > > Worrying trend
  23. Hi fishbiscuits, you are probably correct about the difficulty in finding fresh catfish, but that?s okay I had a frozen one before which is fine. I actually made an out of this world dish with frozen (see pic !). BTW I?m not sure what the definition of ?white fish? means, but the one we ate recently was not white in colour (I don?t know if the definition is meant to specify the actual physical colour of the fish meat).
