  1. Does anyone know where I might find the above mentioned Rabble TV? Pls PM me if more approp cheers
  2. but once in a while, don't you like a luminous red chicken tikka Mick? Cooked in stale animal fat with some free "brandy" at end? :-)
  3. And yet people still love a plate of 3 day old reheat on LL. Mine was public atatement to say i'll never eat that shit injected LL slop again, about why is it that fresh home cooked curry tastes better and asking for some DIY recipes btw
  4. Spot on. The clawing ghee stays with you for 48 hrs. Just doesn't taste fresh either.
  5. - there are too many of them obvs - some of them have shall we say interesting business models - as I was reminded last night it's all the same slop After another mediocre LL takeaway I've decided it's my last. Also got me thinking how much I like home cooked curry and asking why that always tastes better. They put so much salt, sugar and ghee in curry house fare it's no wonder you want one after 5 pints. Discovering as a student you can knock up a great home curry in 35 mins without bankrupting yourself at SMBS was a revelation. As was home cooked poppadoms. Any of the curry fiends on here like cooking their own and if so got any good quick recipes?
  6. Poor monkey. We lost him today between the church off Goose Green and the bottom of Lordship Lane. He's probably gone to the same soft toy heaven as "Blue Bunny" or rather wet by now. If you find him please let us know. He's a brown Monkey soft snuggle thing..about 9 inches square. Thanks.
  7. Took a pill to help me sleep, woke up early to do the old pre-clean before the cleaner comes. Got to work and realised I'd left my phone at home. Got home that night, searched hard....no phone. Checked Google and tracked it leaving my house later that morning...following the route of the bin lorry. I'd somehow wedged ?600 of Samsung into some old newspapers and tossed it into the recycling. F$#@$ng idiot.
  8. You in the mood for some lovin' Foxy?
  9. Sorry to hear it chap. I know from experience how it really shakes you up. Just remember it's not the norm and statistically it's unlikely to happen again to you anytime soon. Have to say that although mine was 6 years ago or so also off LL, I'm now pretty much in an Uber anytime after midnight. Happy to pay my 5-7 quid for the security . Get better soon my friend.
  10. Absolutely respect Tosca's right to an opinion. Everyone's expectation levels are different I guess? As is what good looks like to any individual. Unless it's very obviously bad it's surely shades of grey and wholly subjective. For something like this establishment I'm happy with a 7/8 out of 10. Not looking for perfection.
  11. That's quite a harsh critique especially on detail that many wouldn't notice. For me, eating out in East Dulwich is about decent food at a half decent price in a decent looking place. Rather than say Michelin starred perfection?
  12. I quite like this strip now. It's definitely improving fast. Watsons General Telegraph is a very decent pub too. Had food and beer there recently and was impressed. Nice feel too.

Pretty much all areas a bit away LL more interesting than the pizza/curry/burger offerings of the uninsipired high rent middle class dormitory. Food exploration bro - its not taking the missus out to Franklins once a year. *coughs*

I guess that's why. Clocking high there bruv. Big score. I don't tip as most drivers don't expect it. Exceptions are where they go out the way / beyond the call.

  18. I genuinely can't remember anywhere decent to eat in Brixton in 2007 apart from perhaps Upstairs which was brilliant but closed a while back I think. And maybe Fujiyama for very average Japanese food....it was a bit of a barren wasteland for foodies.
  19. I started my post with "it's not news" as I kew I'd get the replies like above....(and double yawn seabag with your Deptford leanings) but I seriously think for some people in the SE22 dormitory/bubble that they hardly ever leave boring old Lordship Lane. I've not spent nearly enough time in Brixton lately (the point of this post) but that aside probably spend more time outside of SE22 in Camberwell, Peckham and even Sydenham way for interesting things.... But Jeremy saying Brixton is now officially amazing for food is no understatement. He's spot on.
  20. Not exactly news...Brixton village has been there for a while.... but its wasn't really that long ago that you had a to look hard for a decent place to eat round there. A quick wander yesterday and couldn't believe how they've smartened up Coldharbour lane...even Electric Avenue. Freshly painted new independent shops, no bags of rubbish /hairballs, clean pavements....even the skunk dealers on the corner by KFC are gone. Best of all was spotting all the new eateries I've yet to try , the Lebanese place, that amazing dim sum restaurant, the BBQ place (The joint). Not sure how many Easter Dulwichers venture that way regularly but I've been napping and will be correcting asap.....
  21. Hi, Can anyone recommend some good long weekend options for a break with toddlers, drivable from London (2-3 hrs max), with things to do and ideally a toddler friendly accommodation (self catering or a decent family hotel)? We've done a fait amount of flying recently and keen to just get out of London but to give airports a rest. Any tips much appreciated! Thanks.
  22. This is a disaster. This facility is always busy which indicates local demand. It's a reason to invest in it not shut it down!
  23. Hi Mick I'm going...did you not get an invite?!
