  1. Vito...you should be able to get ?250k for about ?650 per month BTL interest only at the moment with 40% equity plus. Of far greater impact if you have a decent sized BTL mortgage are the new tax rules coming into play from April and tapering in until 2020 where you lose the ability to deduct much of your mortgage interest from your profits. Stamp duty for new BTL purchases will now also carry an extra 3%. Over the next few years BTL is pretty much dead for amateur landlords IMO. Better investments to be had.

    No rush though.
  3. What a special day that was. Was that the year there was a massive snowball fight in Dulwich Park? I still have some pics of that somewhere.
  4. Pulled pork Craft beer Dry January
  5. Nxjen - we're mostly all with you bro
  6. Bet. But correction...just refreshed my odds app and they've shortened to pretty much evens. Less attractive. Ladbrokes...never my first choice but I love how they have a Trump specials page.
  7. I think I'm going to lay a grand on Trump not lasting a full term. 9/4 offered currently.
  8. Personally I'd rather reduce my alcoholic consumption by 8% over 12 months and still go down the pub. Each to their own. Thanks Jah. Also this... http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/health/non-alcoholics-enjoying-pretend-battle-with-drink-2015010694117
  9. Buddug - good citizenship there. *salutes*

Read my post. I'm not beating anyone down for not drinking alcohol at all. I said drinking or abstention are all fine. I'm just saying that I find the whole dry January concept really boring when people make out it's a massive personal sacrifice in the name of better health and then want to tell everyone about it. Then get slap bang back onto boozing as usual come 1st Feb. Several studies show that dry January doesn't really make you any healthier and that moderation throughout the year is far better. Impressive you've made a choice and stuck to it for so long tho.
  11. Dry January...like everyone is some kind of martyr. Really boring. Drink if you like, abstain if you like. But as Fox says moderation is surely the way. Nothing against non alcoholic beer...but it just makes makes me want real beer. Like vegetarian bacon.

We'll see if it happens later this week....

It's actually possible to walk from LL post office to the DV one , get your stuff done and be back on LL before you would have been served. I know this to be true because I've done it. Twice.
  14. @BNG agree should have won by more today but it was a great game to watch especially 2nd half with some return to the sexy football of old. Nice to buy a Gamma Ray at the bar with no queue and still a decent turnout of 1146 for what was always going to be hangover Monday. Really enjoyed it and kudos to all for keeping DHFC rolling.
  15. Just make sure you have a full charge on your phone to last the day obvs.
  16. For lot's of reasons, the powers that be would seem to be keen on us moving to a cashless society. I'm already carrying way less cash than a few years back with contactless etc. If you think about it cashless basically hands control to the state if it chose to exercise it. So...big picture is much more worrying than the convenience benefits. Think of all those cash based businesses that have been skimming the tax man for years - already starting to get harder....
  17. This. Heritage value to mine right there.
  18. Big lolz Bob. The daft xmas eve Cheese Block queue is an annual ED tradition which highlights poor upfront planning and says a lot about the cheese buying habits of your average punter. I would go several days before these lemmings ideally when the shop opens.

  20. LOLz RD. You surely don't work off Zoopla?

  22. If I was a small time landlord...with a flat on the side that was even remotely leveraged....I would be selling come spring and before it get wobbly. Prices have already dropped 10% on flats locally since the Brexit referendum. Time to cash out now and collect the sizeable capital gains from the past decade, avoid marginal BTL income after the new regs and the glut of flats that will hit the market when interest rates pick up....
  23. At least 8 trains cancelled from North Dulwich this morning....starting with the 0653, 0718, 0747 and 0817
  24. It's actually pretty easy to make at home. My past few attempts turned out ok...but I still can't do that pizza flipping thing so use a rolling pin to get the dough paper thin..... If you like Malaysian then check out Norman Musa's afternoon course "Malaysian Street Food" at Leiths Cookery School. I got given this as a present and whist a bit out my usual comfort zone it was brilliant. You'll learn how to make a mean Beef Rending and Roti Canai and the missus says it's the gift that keeps on giving...! https://www.leiths.com/classes/malaysian-street-food-with-norman-musa
  25. Perhaps schools should be warned also...if you are connected to any please let them know (I'm not). Thanks.
