  2. would have loved to have come along and hear you play but it clashes with our NCT party :(
  3. The NCT Xmas party is running in conjunction with the Push Studios Winter Fair. We will have free mini-facials and massages available on the day, as well as eyebrow threading (threading is ?10 but the other treatments are free). Do come along! Free entry, 1pm - 4pm. Come early to book your slot for a mini-facial. For details of the Winter Fair, see here. New stallholders added.
  4. I'd like some thermals (see other thread about being prematurely middle-aged), a foot massage and lots of bath foam. Snowboarder - why are stylish, warm coats with hoods impossible to find?! I have a long jacket with a hood but it covers most of my face so not that great when I'm out pram-pushing or carrying my baby!
  5. Just found the petition link on another thread, it's here if anyone wants to sign it: http://www.gopetition.co.uk/petitions/save-the-albany-midwifery-practice.html
  6. Once the playgroup starts, we'll need some toys for the children, please feel free to keep any bits and pieces that you have and bring along. I'll keep the poll open for another week before deciding on a date. Thanks!
  7. It's a brilliant idea, but for just a couple of hours, I'd rather drop my daughter off to a friend's house so I can get some shopping done, then look after their child in return for another couple of hours at a later date. I wouldn't be able to justify this cost when our babysitter is ?5 an hour although I do prefer my daughter to be around other children as she's at an age where she really enjoys that. But I know it's hard to make schemes like this work financially as there's often lots of costs and paperwork to be done to get it up and running.
  8. I thought it was a great idea, but a little bit too expensive for our budget.
  9. My teenage bedroom was a mess and I still live in chaos, so nothing's really changed!
  10. I've set-up an online poll so everyone can vote for the most popular day and session time. It's pretty difficult finding a session to suit all, so I'll go with the majority vote. Let me know if this poll works OK for everyone as I've never set one up before: http://www.misterpoll.com/polls/464458 (No Monday or Friday options as I'm not free on these days to run the group)
  11. Room on the Broom is a great story
  12. The Plough's my local, so even better for me! Thanks for organising, Pippa x
  13. Rice cookers are the way to go. Every Sri Lankan I know has one, and never has to suffer sticky rice because of it.
  14. hi pickle, a couple of my friends would like to come too
  15. I'm starting up a new playgroup on Thursday mornings at Push Studios, we'd love some toys for the playgroup!
  16. 15 days late with my first, arrrrrgh! A Christmas / Boxing day baby means you can combine bday and xmas pressies thus save yourself some pennies - that's quite handy seeing how expensive babies are in the long run!
  17. Hi sb, I think Thursday 9.30 - 12, we'll see how popular it is, can maybe shift to the afternoon once it gets even colder!
  18. afternoons always seem to clash with nap times, lunch times as well as the school pick-up times though?
  19. Fuschia, there's the Mag Baby Club and Plough baby Club on Fridays a stone's throw away from Push, might not be such a good idea to do another Baby Club on Fridays?
  20. I like SE22 magazine, it's a quick read whilst I'm on the loo in the morning. I doubt the pop-up restaurant is related to the one in Peckham...
  21. The only negative thing I've heard is that the vaccine contains mercury (thiomersal) which has been removed from children's immunisations. I believe the nasal spray version of the H1N1 vaccine is mercury-free but I don't know if that is available or even recommended for children.
  22. I'm sure health and safety for children's classes will be a nightmare!
  23. ok, keep me posted
  24. I am fairly useless at sewing unless it's sewing on buttons, but luckily Lou is a dabhand with a sewing machine, so costumes for school shall be his department! Phew, off the hook!
