I was taking the piss Mick Mac. I've no idea how bad it is or isn't in the particular Manchester suburban street Judy has alerted us to. My aunt went to uni in Manchester in the early 80's, that's how I know about the poem. I'm not a fan of Cooper-Clarke or anything like that. Good question though. I don't think my answer would count for much amongst all you lot due to my age and/or lack of life experience but I will say one thing. Much less violent crime and a lot less toleration of it as well when it did occur.

No it doesn't ruin it at all. Just one of those comedy moments in a bleak and unforgiving landscape.

I couldn't have put it better myself Mockney. Chilling, intelligent and scary they most drfinately are. I've been watching mostly south Korean horror movies recently.

Well, I was about 14 when I saw the first one Mockney and a lot more impressionable than you. I still enjoyed it though. Shrooms was gash, no mistake there.

I'm definately with you on the whole eastern horror Mockney. Horror flicks from Korea and Japan are so scary sometimes it takes the piss.

I only saw Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho last year but I saw 'The Birds' and that scared me shitless. Very little gore as well.

Yeah, I saw Cannibal holocaust as well. Top film and it caused one of the biggest shit storms in movie history!
