  1. bit more about "Cecilia Bartholemew" here
  2. ah good - I just kept reading how many people couldn't get any slot for a month and wondered if that was widespread
  3. "supermarkets deliver to your door" have you tried booking a slot lately Sue? Not easy...
  4. "and good DAY to you too sir!!"
  5. facebook/whatever you haven't plucked it out of the thin air
  6. "What does this mean exactly?" he reads these things on his facebook groups and thinks they are "a truth" It would be funny if it wasn't people like him getting us into further trouble - imagine looking at the current virus situation and thinking proceeding with brexit was a good idea Do we want or have time to negitiate any deals? No Will we need as much cash as possible to deal with this outbreak? Yes IS that best achieved by maintining trading with our closes and largest partner? Yes? WIll that penetrate minds of DF and co? No And thats ignoring the whole fallacy in his post about EU sovereign nations being able to control their borders Or how leaving the EU helps UK deal with this siutuation in any way "a good time" - sheesh
  7. If that?s your information, what?s your conclusion?
  8. How can someone say "Is that it? toys out of the pram methinks!! A true faceless keyboard warrior, do you shout at oaps and women as well?" in one breath and just a few minutes earlier say "You are one obnoxious, stuck up, condescending @#$%&"
  9. If the thread is toxic, surely it's Grove Boy that demonstrates it GB - the linked article is a problem - the question is, what's teh answer (there isn't any easy one) and how does Leaving the EU help with it but it's when you say "All that matters is remain lost, " thats what really counts for you isn't it? You don't care about any negative outcome - you just get to scream "you lost"
  10. I would be interested to know what about this thread has been toxic since Cat revived it yesterday Toxic. It?s a big word. ?Toxic? Well shit. I?m against that!!? Aren?t we all. So someone accusing others of toxicity is going to sound like they are somehow victimised. But wait - where is this toxicity ?
  11. ?I?m out? Again Cat - I don?t think you are nutty, racist, ignorant or a racist But just because a bunch of people point out you are wrong, doesn?t make this an echo chamber or make you right Brexit is a folly. I know you don?t believe that. But it is. Objectively. Everyone is telling us. Some of us even agree. It?s you living in an echo chamber And I still believe, as I?ve said before, deep down you know this to be true. But you can?t back down now
  12. ?I've expressed it numerous times before on this forums, but in anycase..... ? Despite you repeatedly waving away any problems arising from this, yet claim to point out multiple ?benefits? We?ve read your posts. We know you have repeatedly tried to justify your position (with no substance whatsoever) We?ve even had to deal with your cringey ?peek behind the robe? comments which tells us all about how central you view yourself But none of it amounts to a damn thing. Here is what is true: We have left the eu We have idiots in charge We have a population with no understanding what leaving with no deal means Instead of engaging with the eu we have adopted a weirdly belligerent position. When the eu points out everything that was predicted before the referendum we say they are bullying us We will rejoin the eu - only the damage done between now and then is up for debate
  13. ?The virus could also allow the Gov to extend without losing face with the loony tunes...? That this is so obviously true and necessary, yet still ?Up for debate? shows us how bad things are
  14. Here?s the reality Johnson asks for an extension - govt falls due to outrage from nutters Johnson doesn?t ask for an extension - current rate of withdrawing from ANYTHING with ?Europe? in the name. No deal/effectively no deal probable. Govt falls due to economic collapse and ?events?
  15. Sorry. Are you claiming your posts are light hearted banter. Or they are making serious points The two points you claim don?t stand up to any scrutiny Yes. You can ban super trawlers. Of course you can. It?s you?re legal right But how does that play out in a bigger picture politically. You can?t claim these are simple, no-cost wins
  16. And that, wind ?them? up, is the only point of all of this isn?t it Write the largest cheque you can?t cash, just to wind ?them? up And some people will indeed clap that Worse, you will giggle, give yourself a metaphorical clap on the back. Ignorant of all the problems caused
  17. "But I'd need the comfort of knowing I was still within walking distance of an outlet selling ?3 coffee and ?5 bread, with a nice large window so people could watch me buying them." no shortage of that in Lewes tbf
  18. "Anyone tried the Sky Soundbox ?" It's expensive if you don't get the offer - even then it's not meant to be great in comparison to other soundbars (compared to the TV itself it will be amazing) Because I'm a Sonos house I use a Beam for my telly - if I was JUST buying it for a soundbar I think that would be pricey for the job as well (it's good tho)
  19. Yeah, Rochester is an odd one 6 years ago we left East Dulwich for Lewes. And still very much happy with the decision (reflecting on comments fishbiscuits has made in the past, I know people do tend to say that anyway. But it's very much true) We spent several months travelling to towns within commuting distance of London, often staying overnight to get more of a feel. I'll be honest - not many towns felt great. This was pre-referendum days but that vibe was very much present The Lewes/Brighton/south downs combo has been a real winner for us. But in many ways we were already "ready" for a move. We didn't want to recreate the life we had in East Dulwich in a different part of London - we wanted to change things up a bit. But not everyone feels the same way - it very much depends which bits of life you get out of London living now and how much you want to retain
  20. Well you?ve obviously made your mind up on this issue It?s not an opinion - it?s the facts. If you brits want to absolutely control your borders it means you need to erect one. That?s not an opinion. The opinion is about why you feel the need to do that As for the previous border, many Irish people would object to it being called a border in name only given the problems it caused. But even with the border of your imagination don?t you agree it was more trouble than it was worth? And by working together in eu we have had a better time of it?
  21. I know where the border would need to go keano. I?m asking you how you would control a border in a locked down uk? Presumably a uk that wants to control its borders needs a border between uk and Republic of Ireland? So that?s why your talk of it being just an eu imposition is rubbish
  22. THAT woman on question time last night seemed very keen on borders. She wanted a total lock down. I keep asking keano how he imagines this is possible without a border but all I get is ?we don?t want a border the eu does?
  23. Non-sequiturs and strawmen a gogo You keep being you keano. You won?t change now
  24. ?Another reason it ought to be rethought is because Sephiroth (above) probably wouldn?t even get those 10 points on the new system because of his English. Then we?d all miss his entertaining contributions. ? What a love you are keano
  25. But just because no one can predict anything with 100% accuracy doesn?t mean we can?t weigh up probabilities. The eu has been a stable and useful environment for its existence - it will evolve and if we stayed we would have helped shaped that evolution. As it is we will be a small country alone, buffeted by other larger blocs. So on balance remaining provides that far better probable outcome Remainers have lots of reasons to complain. One of them Being Dealing with keano and uncle and their bizarro world interpretation of events (the eu will impose a border. Not us!!) and yet here are on the day the government publishes its point system to keep people out (without a border how does it propose to do that?)
