ruffers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Where's the dilemma? > Ask for discount. > > Answer is yes or no - make decision. Direct you are, ruffers, but speak the truth you do. Ask for a discount. Neither you nor your landlord are doing each other any favours. Or perhaps you are....in which case a discount is the least you should be asking for.

Surma Curry House: Award Free (Apparently)

Michael Vick... and (Plaxico Burres) for carrying an unlicensed, concealed weapon and somehow managing to shoot yourself in the leg. It's not called the National Felons League for nothing :-)

His vans clearly state "Hire this van and driver" not "van and man / helper / carrier". Anyway, whatever kind of service he offers, this type of sick filth should be banned! It's really bringing down the neighborhood and I for one will fight this all the way to City Hall(6)

Matthew123, It remains 11 a side. My theory is that although the punishment is directed toward the player rather than the team, it will effect the team dynamic, especially if the disqualified player is seem as core to certain plays or is particularly hard to replace.

SCSB79, can I ask why you want to know this? A player can be disqualified from the game for a few offenses, listed below and possibly fined and suspended from the league in extreme cases: It's quite rare though, prob due to the stop /start nature of the game. Also, I have noticed that NFL players seem to act with a little more respect for officials in their game compared to, say, some premiership prima-donnas. *Edited to add - I am def NOT an NFL know it all, just a fan still learning and the following info was nicked from NFL.com, 15 Yards penalty (and disqualification if flagrant) 1. Striking opponent with fist. 2. Kicking or kneeing opponent. 3. Striking opponent on head or neck with forearm, elbow, or hands whether or not the initial contact is made below the neck area. 4. Roughing kicker. 5. Roughing passer. 6. Malicious unnecessary roughness. 7. Unsportsmanlike conduct. 8. Palpably unfair act. (Distance penalty determined by the Referee after consultation with other officials.)

Only good quality, well cooked food gets served when I am in the apron. Sadly I don't have a garden these days so am reliant on invites to parents and those blessed with more space than I.

Good to hear that, Annasfield - it is veeery easy to spend an afternoon on the pool table with a few cheap beverages :-$ I was in there this evening watching the Millwall game and had a chat with Jenny the landlady. The public bar is staying open for the next 4 weeks or so and after that the whole place is closing for about 6 weeks for a refurb. All the original fittings, bar, beams etc are staying (and rightly so, it's got a lovely original interior structure), the stage is being moved back some 10 foot or so and the toilets are being knocked down and rebuilt in the yard space. I didn't manage to find out about the rest of it but a lick of paint and a tidy up seem to be the order of the day. I know the place has a slightly bad name, I think particularly (maybe, in the past?) on this forum, but I really like living nearby and apart from the occasional loud kick out/drunken-couples-having-verbals-in-the-street-episode, it's a trouble free, friendly boozer with excellent Guinness, football on Sky and an interesting mix of locals. I prefer having people around the area late at night than an empty street, especially when my better half has been working late and is on her way home. If it wasn't there, the area would seem somewhat poorer. Check it out when it reopens, or maybe even before it closes.

PeckhamRose Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > And that half of Goose Green is definitely going > to be a city farm. Now that IS true. No, no, no, no, no. The Lordship Lane end of Goose Green is to be concreted over and turned into an NCP spot for Sainsbury Forest Hill overspill. FACT. They will provide a bus service to the store for 2 pounds (1 pound if you spend over 100 quid in store). Sorry, French keyboard so can't find the pound sign. FACT.

Thuggish dog foulers and (in before ????) clowns.

It's the unwritten rule of the suburbs "He who leaves his skip uncovered on the public carriageway shall, as a reward for such selfless, public-spirited generosity, receive everybody's unwanted household junk". There will always be at least one item of an old bathroom suite. You should consider yourself lucky you didn't get the matching bath and sink too.

New organic Bakery in Lordship Lane...
Horsebox replied to Lizziedjango's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thanks, Vince. I'll have a search for them. I am getting slightly obsessed with my starter and the different breads that it produces dependent on the conditions and method used. One downside to good homemade bread: the very fine dusting of flour that seems to get everywhere in my flat (td) -
