  1. "Pour over"! hahaha.... "caffeine fiends everywhere have the Japanese to thank for this method of coffee making magic"... what a load of tripe! It never ceases to amaze me how people are able to constantly reinvent and re-badge something as simple as coffee. It is really no different to filter/drip coffee. Only real difference is the quality of the coffee... freshly ground, and maybe even freshly roasted will of course make your coffee taste much better. Anything other than that is just hipster nonsense.

  4. Great work malumbu.

Music related.. following on from TheCat's previous joke...

  7. Thanks James - I love your name too. One problem is that when a place has been on the market a while, it can put people off as they think there must be something wrong with it, or it will be hard to resell. Maybe take it off the market, then put it back on in October with a new agent - and ask for a realistic valuation from a few agents (avoid the worst of the shysters... KFH, Foxtons, etc... who overvalue to get you on their books)
  8. I don't think anybody is patronizing you or accusing you of being greedy, James. Of course it's a shit situation when you want/need to move and nothing's happening. But if it ain't selling... there's only a short list of options...
  9. I guess Camden Market still has a bit of a reputation as being a bit "alternative", so I can see kids turning their nose up at it if it's not really their scene. Broadway Market is pretty good on a Saturday. Brick Lane and Columbia Road markets on a Sunday. Peckham Levels... even if she can't drink, there are lots of food kiosks to choose from, and it's a trendy sort of place. Bussey Building rooftop cinema. Get food somewhere trendy like Forza Win, Mr Bao, Taco Queen...
  10. What a terrible shock. I shall buy an avocado from Sainsbury's in her memory... and maybe even attempt to return it later in the day. RIP.
  11. Yep... they grow quite large and are a threat to fish and birds. Don't put them in ponds, lakes, or rivers. All you can really do is try to find a sanctuary, or call the RSPCA (who TBH might just put it down)
  12. Where is Dog Kennel Hill Wood?
  13. Once kids are big enough to climb in and out of the car themselves, you don't really need the wider spaces. But trying to reach in and lift out a baby, when you can only open the door half way... that can be pretty tricky. And there's a really high chance of smacking your door into the next car. Of course I agree that other people that need them - elderly or those with mobility issues, etc - should use the spaces too. But using them just because you're a lazy bellend is incredibly selfish. And no, being in your 50s is not a valid reason.
  14. I agree 100% with DulwichFox. Although it may not seem an appealing option at the moment, I'd rip it out and put a new one in - with the taps in a more accessible place for (inevitable) future maintenance. I really don't think any plumbing should ever be complelely boxed in and/or inaccessible.
  15. Japan still make a lot of stuff.. largely for the domestic market. The Japanese do really like to buy Japanese goods. I think it's more a cultural thing than protectionism as such.
  16. bargee99 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Use the right people and ask a fair price Yeah.. but I think the price really is the main factor. There is some utter crap on the market at around 1M... houses that need completely gutting. I don't get it!
  17. Uncle Bell-end strikes again.
  18. Angelina - I think you're wrong, it hasn't moved in weeks. A bit of curiosity seems pretty normal. Your comment comes across as quite snide and nasty.
  19. Indeed they have, Healey.
  20. Thanks
  21. It wouldn't scare me away at all. If the treatment plan is fully paid for up-front then I see no reason to pull out. It's even perfectly possible to treat it as a DIY job if you're persistent. If you can't get any cooperation from the current treatment company, then get a new quote for a 3 year treatment and monitoring programme, and get the price knocked off.
  22. Batch looks intriguing, but has never been open when I've gone past. Do you know what the opening hours/days are?
  23. I've noticed it a couple of times in passing. A ?150K car looks rather incongruous parked there... perhaps one of your neighbours has had a windfall?!

This is what I can't work out. If the housing market has stalled, why haven't asking prices come down? Why are agents still putting on 2 bed flats at 550K, 3 bed houses at 950K?

Maybe not criminal proceedings - although not really for us to say. But should he remain in such a position of responsibility? If the club comes under a governing body, what can they learn regarding guidelines for trips/activities, etc. Stuff like that.
