Jazzer how very dare you The only time I've ever heard LBC was in the back of an uber where some shouty bloke was going on about "bulldogs .... save the Queen" No idea and I prefer the mellow sounds of smooth FM 😎 DKHB interesting point ... maybe it's all lies including the actual parties and it's being let loose to hide something else 🤔

I am fascinated by how this story is unfolding, not from the point of "what's coming next" but from the perspective of who's leaking the information , why now and what are they hoping to gain ? I'm not excusing what's happened but someone clearly has an agenda and expects to see benefits from either a change in PM or toppling the Tory party from power. Politics is a dirty business and the press seems to be showing their true colours by not digging deeper into what the story behind the leaks is. Is it Dom out for revenge, Gove doing a power play or Andrew looking to deflect news away from himself? (okay the last one is unlikely) I'm personally curious to look behind the headlines and understand more about who and why these leaks are being drip fed to us at this moment in time. After all they must have sat on them for many months !

The issue with pedestrianisation of Oxford street is that currently people with limited mobility use buses and taxis to traverse it's length. Remove vehicles and you will make it less accessible as its a long street so shoppers with mobility issues will go elsewhere. Whilst you can argue that one or two shoppers going elsewhere isn't a big deal, they often come with family, carers or friends so the loss of shoppers increases. On top of that many bus routes don't terminate on or near Oxford Street, but go through it to get to other destinations so they will need to be rerouted to bypass any closures. A good example of both effects was the recent closure of Rye Lane where bus journeys took longer and businesses claim they suffered a fall in sales. So the issue of closing to traffic isn't bad simple as it looks.

With the 12th night already passed, I'm still getting late Christmas cards (post delays) My dilemma is should I put them up or store them / dispose of them ? If I put them up past the 12th night then does tradition apply and they have to stay up for 12 months ? If I don't put them up. Is it disrespectful to the people who sent them ? What are other people doing with delayed Christmas cards ?

I can't endorse this company or vouch for the product (as I haven't personally tried it) but I was recommended this product which allows couriers to leave deliveries in a secure box outside your house. Let's be honest It's not bad cyclists, it's not bad motorists, it's not bad pedestrians It's simply because everyone feels time pressured and short cuts / risks are taken which then highlights an issue (be it bad overtaking, jumping a red light... ) There's no easy fix but in the 60s and 70s there where public information films about being respectful to other road users (these also included the green cross man / tufty) and maybe we all need a reminder that we all share the road and none of us own it ... Now where's Steven Spielberg when you need him)

The possibility is that it's an open pot that tipped over in the back of a van (or sideways opening rear doors vehicle) and that the driver also has paint everywhere inside and partially down the back as well. Would be easy to locate if it was OZ yellow paint as you simply follow the yellow brick road to find the wonderful wizard of bodge

The buses / transport reduction has nothing to do with the council, however it's potential impact on this area should be part of the councils strategy to keep things moving. If there are fewer buses then there will be more pressure on the ones running, potentially leading to more people needing to find alternative ways to get around, be it active travel for some or more use of a car for others (depending on individual circumstances ) If the TfL reduction in services goes ahead then there needs to be some serious joined up thinking by the council in conjunction with the residents to get a positive way forward. Blocking roads when buses are reduced isn't the logical answer

In a joined up thinking world Nigello that would make sense, but in reality it will result in a reduction in services to save on fuel, maintenance and salaries. Smaller buses would need to be purchased, drivers trained on them and still need maintenance , fuel and drivers so that won't help and reducing overlapping routes will disadvantage passengers by forcing them to change possibly onto already busy buses.

Cat, you took that off at a tangent there, but it's your vote that counts not a pre defined list.
