  1. Was this your 1st or 2nd dose? I had Pfizer and felt much much worse after the 2nd shot than I did the 1st.
  2. Well said. My first day back with the public tomorrow and to say I'm nervous is an understatement! The thing I'm most dreading is the people who because they can shop in a store again feel its ok not to wear a mask. Its bad enough on the tube with so many not bothering to obey the rules I think West end shops will be full of idiots thinking everything is 'normal'

  4. I had my First Pfizer shot mid Feb-aside from a sore arm for a couple of days only other side effect was feeling very tired the next day and slight headache. 2nd shot-Pfizer yesterday evening I feel like I have the flu-aching all over and tired. intermittent headache and shivers. Helped by having a Lemsip. grateful to have had my 2nd dose!
  5. I went to school with Bill Oddie's daughter...FACT!
  6. sounds par for the course for this government so far.
  7. My OH had his 1st jab on Friday. Astra Z : he hasn't had Covid. Side effects-one on the day but the next day he felt slightly fluey, achey but nothing major

I'm sure you'll be fine! I was expecting all sorts of side effects and thankfully the ones I had were minimal and bearable.
  11. I work in a shop and we are are working through the Lockdown dealing with online orders and telephone orders whilst the store is closed-We all wear masks all day except some staff members who are exempted for medical reasons and they HAVE to wear a badge or some have a laminated sign they wear on a lanyard-this rule has been laid out by our health and safety team. This was also the case when the store was open, although one of those staff members chose to wear a visor when facing the public as he felt more commutable that way. The people that I object to are the muppets who just dont want to wear a mask or think its somehow macho or 'cool' not to do so.

I wasn't commenting on those exempted from wearing a mask. and I was not the OP complaining about staff not wearing masks in Gails. My comment was in direct response to your comment about people 'dont have to wear masks and visors and they shouldn't be forced to' If people are NOT exempt they should be reminded that it is mandatory to wear a mask in a shop or on public transport. However as you correctly state we cannot 'force' anyone to do anything however I would hope that respect for the health and safety of others would prevail. You came across in your post as an anti mask wearer and if I misunderstood I apologise.
  13. jimlad48 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > They don't have to though, and they shouldn't be > forced to. > > God I hate and despise the mask facists. Wearing a mask protects others from catching YOUR germs if you have the virus and are asympomatic. I H**E and D*****E people like YOU who are contributing to the rediculous death toll in this country and the loss of many thousands of jobs and businesses. You are selfish and ignorant. I wear a mask for 12 hours a day at work and on my daily commute-I hate wearing a mask but I would hate even more knowing that I may unwittingly infect someone who goes on to lose their life or that of a loved one because I "dont want to wear a mask' Friends of mine have lost their jobs, Friends of mine have lost family members-And people like YOU JIMLAD48 make me feel nauseous
  14. Signed! The background to your story resonated with me having gone through a similarly dreadful time in the space of a year. I sincerely wish you every success in this-you deserve to have this sanctuary and shouldn't be put in fear of losing your home. Good luck!

Since it bothers you so much why didn't you raise it with the manager in the shop mentioned? I'm not defending Gails by any means but you say you witnessed the non wearing of masks on two occasions then came on the forum to complain. Perhaps you should have gone to the person in charge to complain on the spot then emailed head office? THEN posted on this forum if upon a third visit things hadn't changed. Also considering their customers probably dont mainly come from ED (we have enough bread and coffee shops in and around Lordship lane thank you very much) posting this won't actually make any difference to their behaviour or their takings.

I cant speak for the hot water top-up because I'm a coffee drinker and my OH doesn't drink tea either But we often used to go there for brunch at weekends and I'd go there for lunch after a gym work out now and again and never had gratuity added to the bill.

  21. Also Dulwich and Sydenham woods although very muddy when we walked there yesterday in addition to being busy on the narrow paths still had people jogging which made for some uncomfortable moments of me stepping off the path into the bushes or almost slipping in the mud to get out of their way. I really am NOT anti joggers my OH jogs almost daily but all I ask is that they try and show respect for others dont run up to them puffing in their face, or run uncomfortably close behind them. THINK-not everyone is agile enough to dodge out your way. cant you slow your pace a little rather than running uncoftably close up behind pedestrians? If its a nice day chances are pavements and parks will be busy-perhaps jog earlier in the morning or later in the evening like my OH does-
  22. Ahhh! good! I suggested cross posting and realise this has already been done. I've signed.

I'll go to Luca on North X road as I do now...lovely people who have served the community well during Lockdowns past and present

Totally agree! going to the park (especially Dulwich) is actually stressful because of all the joggers especially around late morning lunchtimes. also the narrow pavements on Dulwich common road are often blighted by having joggers run at me puffing and panting in my face. My OH is a daily jogger and he actually finds the park too busy and tends to jog either early morning or late evening on roads when its quieter and avoids the park now. the WORST are the couples jogging who take up the pavement and make no attempt to go single file or break step for a moment to let pedestrians pass-I had to step into the road the other day because of this which resulted in me getting thoroughly soaked by a passing car going through a puddle. not acceptable !
