  1. Bale only has to look at how things have turned out for Luka Modric at Real Madrid to see that sometimes the grass is not always greener. I think Andre Villas Boas should also take a lot of credit for Bale's current form. He's come in and breathed new life into the club. At the end of last season we lost Modric, Van Der Vaart and Ledley King. Effectively the spine of the team. Not to mention new signings needing time to bed in. Change in footballing philosophy too. We've had our only two recognised strikers out injured or away on Africa Cup Of Nations duty at one time or another and we've coped without them. We're now scoring and winning games in the last few minutes instead of losing them. We're unbeaten in 2013 and now up to third. Things are looking good and I'm well happy. Harry Who?
  2. Opposing fans keep trying to wind up Spurs supporters with that kind of talk. Daniel Levy would strike a very hard bargain for any club wanting to buy Gareth Bale. He's currently on a four year contract, he likes the club, he's playing well, he's happy. If we can qualify for the Champions League and we get another couple of good players in I think he'll stay at least another season with Spurs. There is of course still a chance of glory this season in the Europa League and that would be a very nice little bit of icing on the cake if we were to win that. Anyway, Hammers dealt with. Gooners up next and that is never an easy fixture. COYS!

  5. From what I can see it's an open and shut case. It was Valentines Day, he asked her to marry him, she wouldn't commit to a relationship with a gun obsessed, steroid-abuser in need of anger management therapy, they had an argument, he went for her with a cricket bat, she ran and locked herself in the bathroom, he tried to smash the door in with the bat, frustrated with his failure to get to her he got a gun fired through the door killing her in the process. That's my guess. Case closed. Send him down.
  6. I think he means 2-4. Hence the smiley.

  10. Precisely.
  11. I remember Flip very well. Had good stuff in there, mostly I bought 501s and army type shirts and maybe a Hawaiian number too. Dicky Dirts was not so good but you could pick up a half decent pair of jeans for around a fiver I seem to remember.

As > the grappling seemed to stop right before the ball > was kicked?? Yes, the grappling was ridiculous but surely it's a foul? An off the ball incident perhaps? You're obstructing an opponent from movement. If it isn't considered a foul it bloody well should be. It's long overdue that this sort of impediment and was stamped out. As Gordon Strachan said last night if the referees were to give a penalty each time this happened it would soon put a stop to it.
  13. 3-nil now. No chance.

  15. Keith Richards, Iggy Pop and Lou Reed. All three of them were on a next to die list for about ten years and yet somehow are still here. Gawd bless 'em.
  16. He scores when he wants. Gareth Bale He scores when he wants.
  17. Jazz. Delicious hot. Disgusting cold.
  18. He's scored three or four own goals against Spurs Otta. Big reason why I like him so much. ;-)
  19. Turning up for the match maybe but what about training? Or will he pull out claiming that often quoted African injury after a tournament - malaria. Really don't have a good feeling about Saturday's match, that's my typical Spurs fan's pessimism shining through. I'm going to the game, so hope I'm wrong, depends if we've got any strikers on the pitch. 20. Good performance from England tonight. Lampard's take superb.
  21. yeah but have you seen the Brazil team? Scarey amount of talent on display.
  22. Adeybayor still in bloody Africa. What a surprise. Looks like Spurs will be without a recognised striker on Sunday. Should have bloody bought one in the January Sales.
  23. Just watching Pointless and one of the contestants (a very gay looking black man with a moustache) said and I quote "I support Arsenal but I also follow Fulham." Reckon he's a season ticket holder at The Effeminates? One of the empty seaters perhaps?
  24. Gazza. Not saying he's England's greatest footballer but before he did that ridiculous tackle on Gary Charles in the FA Cup final in '91 and buggered up his knee he was well on the way to becoming one of the best players in the world and at the World Cup at Italia '90 was probably the best player of the tournament. Hope he gets through his latest setback.

I'd go along with that. A gentleman, a fine footballer, 106 caps and the only England captain to lift the World Cup. Otherwise I'd go for Jimmy Greaves. My boyhood hero. The greatest goalscorer I've ever seen. Two great feet, good in the air, quick with bags of skill, could do taps ins as well as beat five players, round the keeper and score. After him I'd go for Bobby Charlton, great passer of the ball, a drop of the shoulder, body swerve and past his man and a thunderbolt in either foot. Far cry from small boys in the park, jumpers for goalposts. Rush goalie. Two at the back, three in the middle, four up front, one's gone home for his tea. Beans on toast? Possibly, don't quote me on that. Marvellous.
