  1. I believe the story is that the man and his company who pushed for the England football team to wear poppies on their shirts has links to the far right and we can't be seen to be endorsing his company when he has links to fascists.

  3. Innervisions, Talking Book, Fulfullingness First Finale, Songs In The Key Of Life, My Cherie Amour and Uptight.
  4. "Explosions across our city?" I remember the blitz you know (seriously, I'm not that old). I do remember the IRA's campaign of bombing on our mainland though. I don't want to denigrate you for being a little wet behind the ears for you are obviously quite young but do take a look at recent history though it may not be so recent to you but we have been here before and suffered greatly for it.
  5. Very happy with the three points at Fulham today but I'm not crowing yet unlike some people. It's a long hard season Mr Bluerevolution. Enjoy your time in the sun.
  6. Parkdrive Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Andy Johnson's goal was a worldy. Which one? The volley or the brilliantly worked free kick? Both fantastic goals.
  7. Alcohol. Is it time for a pint yet? Actually, there is no need to answer that. I've answered it myself and decided I need to go to the pub NOW!
  8. You'll find it hard to see three better goals this season than Fulham scored last night at Craven Cottage. Martin Jol has really got them playing good football. Very impressive. Should make Sunday's game with Spurs a bit tasty.
  9. I used to know Jimmy quite well years ago. He used to have a weekly column in the Sunday People where I worked for many years when I was a young buck working as a copytaker. Most Fridays I'd take his copy over the phone and we'd have a little natter afterwards, mostly about music. On occasion he would pop into the office to see everyone and would always stop by my office for a chat. He always had time for other people. For instance he gave up a lot of his free time to work at Stoke Mandeville Hospital as an unpaid porter. He would bring in freebies from his Jim'll Fix It programmes for my colleagues children and even got some of them in the audience for his shows. At the Christmas dinner and dances he would always come and sit with us (workers) instead of the directors or editors and would make sure we had enough to drink, even though he didn't touch alcohol himself. He was quick witted, charm personified and yes, OK a little eccentric but so what I thought he was a lovely man. A real salt of the earth. RIP Sir Jimmy Savile OBE
  10. Yep! Parker has been absolutely brilliant for us so far this season. A snip at ?5m. Bargain of the year so far.
  11. Great result for Newcastle tonight. A hat-trick for Ibrahim Ba and up to third place. Who'd a thunk it? I bet West Ham are gutted about letting him go for nothing.
  12. Absolutely right Otta. I was very impressed with Spurs yesterday. Our passing and movement was superb and Scott Parker was once again outstanding. We've not lost a premier league game since he joined us in the summer. Bargain of the season so far.
  13. That'll be a theremin Nette. Rather liking the Metamono. Reminds me of Neu! or other such Krautrock stuff.
  14. All still here dbboy or would you rather get rid?
  15. Oh FFS. Talk about flogging a dead horse. Queen - new album and musical. Puke! Actually, I think Puke! would be a very good and a very apt title.
  16. Hmmmm....I suspect you'll be getting some stick for that post in the morning Mac. But not from me I might add.
  17. Hmmm... I'll consider myself slapped Rosie.
  18. I believe Walthamstow dog track is being resurrected so, all is not lost. Ummm.... for me Hammersmith Palais and the East Dulwich Odeon cinema that stood on Grove Vale next to the school.
  19. Oi! You cunt! Who you calling a left wing liberal? Go bury your head in the sand you Daily Mail reading twat. You sound as bad the so-called journalist that wrote the article.
  20. Sorry, but I couldn't help myself.
  21. Old stuff. Heard him a long time ago. Even got a couple of his promo cassettes (yes that's how long ago it was) Get with the beat Baggy.
  22. OK so about a fiver was spent on the budget for the video but's that's all they could afford and not just because it's my mate who co-wrote it and is singing. It's a fecking tune and the last thing that the late great Martin Rushent produced before he very sadly and suddenly passed away recently. Go buy the CD or download it. I can thoroughly recommend the album too. Out now. Dirty Fingernails - Nitewreckage
  23. Hardly surprising coming from the Daily Heil but having read that I am seriously thinking of writing to the Press Complaints Commission. Absolutely bloody disgraceful.
  24. Oh that's so last Sunday's news.
  25. Yeah... we need another rebellious youthquake. Where's y/our latest spokesman for a generation? Where's your Dylan, Townsend, Jagger and Lydon when you need 'em. Where's an illegal all-night rave with repetitive beats and shit drugs I can get monged out gone too? Fuck it... let's all stay in and watch X-Factor on a loop forever until our minds are fried.
