  1. I've got a football but it needs pumping, bit like me really. Anyone got a pump?
  2. Me too. Excellent idea and I hope that the application is approved.
  3. Yup, that sums it up perfectly Sean. Perhaps the manager will hopefully take a peak at your post and others and act on it.
  4. OK, I might be up for that. How about a kickabout? If it's non-competitive does that mean there won't be any jumpers for goalposts? Maybe I'll just catch you in the pub later.:)-D
  5. I think they were opposed to a new build of flats.
  6. Good call on the Marathon, I may even join you and that's quite correct Keef, breathing the fumes you pick up on any normal High Street's traffic flow is probably akin to smoking 20 Capstan Full Strength a day, so cough on that yer namby pamby afraid to fooking die bloody health fascists!
  7. LOL. Good idea that Brendan, bit of exercise between pints. I'll take my glass with me though, just fill her up mate coz I'm gasping for a fag. That the sort of fitness regime I can relate to.:)-DCheers.
  8. Got chatting to the lovely Saffron from Republica at the Half Moon charity do on Sunday. Extremely likeable girl.
  9. Plenty in the fridge Keef, Overproof is evil, have some Mount Gay instead.
  10. Doh! again Keef, I was being posh wasn't I. Sorry, old bean I'm a bit slow sometimes.
  11. I know Keef, but there are certain people on here who unfortunately need to have it spelled out for them. I tried to be subtle in the begining of this thread assuming people knew what it meant but there you go, sometimes you need to be blunt or they just don't get it. Doh!
  12. Hmm...I think I'll just sit back and watch the bullets fly Louisa, just remember to duck.
  13. Aha ha ha ha. Rotten pigeon English or some sort of Franglais. With you on the beer front though.
  14. Actually, I've never liked it, period. Not my style. Been in there twice and that was more than enough for me.
  15. Louisa, why shouldn't we expect good customer service in Britain? I certainly do and if it's as shabby as this then I would certainly make my feelings known. Also, I think you mean the Ivy in Covent Garden.
  16. I was thinking along the lines of jerk chicken, rice and peas & ackee, that sort of thing, maybe some curried goat for later. Anyway, more beer.
  17. Ah! Sean, good to see you made it at last, have a beer mate.
  18. citizenED Wrote: Jah, you sure you been going in the EDT for > nigh on 25 years - you must have started very > young. Whisper this quietely Citizen...I'm 49. Also, re: the Drum, I go in there quite a lot as Dave, who runs it is a mate.
  19. It's always very sad when a pub has to finally call last orders and shut down. I was never a regular in the Oglander and it's certainly been a couple of years since I last went but I thoroughly enjoyed myself on each occasion that I went there and have very good memories of the place, good beer, good music, good food (jerk chicken and pork) and good vibes.
  20. Although being a strict carnivore I have to say even I'd pass on the black or white pudding.
  21. Storms through the doors after a good reccy of the island, Jamaican woodbine dangling from mouth, bottle of Jack Daniels in one hand, case full of classic reggae CDs in the other, puts on Doctor Alimantado's Best Dressed Chicken In Town, starts skanking and passes bottle to Citizen and reaches for Red Stripes from the fridge, "Come on man, let's get this party started.":)-D
  22. Batdog, I'll spell it out for you OK, MILF - Mother I'd Like To F**k
  23. I will but NTV. Although the Uplands is still one of my least favourite of the local boozers, it's pretty damned soulless inside. The outside seating area has improved a little, which helps if you're like me and enjoy a smoke. Also, they do a fabulous bottled Pear cider in there too but that I'm afraid is about it.
  24. Spot on as usual Sean. I may be getting on a bit but I never feel THAT old even if I do pop in there on Fri/Sat evening. Young at heart I suppose and hedonistic to the core. But also I love to pop into the Drum as maybe a starting point to an evening out and then maybe onto the Black Cherry for cocktails and I do have a soft spot for the EDT as I've been going in there on and off for the best part of 25 years. One thing about the CPT though is it is almost unique - apart from The Castle - in that it is one of the few remaining PROPER pubs left in East Dulwich and long may it stay that way.
