Well Millwall Fans have been known to sing it to opposing fans and, in that instance, I'm pretty sure its an invitation for them to grace us (the Home Fans) with their presence at The Cold Blow Lane (Home) End so could well be...
  2. MILLWALL'S unbeaten Home Record, which broke the long-standing Football League record of 59 games, nearly didn't happen JSW. Picture the scene, there's 3 minutes left of actual playing time, a couple of games b4 reaching the record, and we are losing 0/2 to York City and then Hugh Curran scores...we're in the last minute and Curran breaks thru again---the goalie rushes out and Hughie chips him and the ball sails over the net and nestles in the back of the net and then the Final whistle blows..2/2..we are still on for the record, which is, duly. broken 4 games later...>:D<

Always speaking of country > matters. ....Did I, ever, tell you about the time I visited my M8 Steve in Haywards Heath and his Sister wanted me to discover the delights of "Country Customs" which involved sharing her bed "Bob"...B) Well Done Tony--I have reviewed this post and there's not a single blemish (Not even "Sistren" for "Sister") so keep up the good work !!--Ed.
  5. I've just reviewed my post, immediately above this one and realised I have used "mission" instead of "circuitous journey" so apologies there, all-round. Off back to Room 101 now as I'm obviously in need of more corrective treatment....NURSE.....
  6. KalamityKel Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Country or countryside? Now you have given me a real dilemma KK! My live-in, Jamaican Ladyfriend always says "Country" as in "he's from Country" and, inevitably, sometimes, the immediacy of this everyday usage rubs off on me, as in this case. However, I have just been informed that there has just been a complaint that as I'm not, personally, Black, that I must not "parody" their street talk (even though it is URBAN talk that I was parodying ) used by the Yoof, sorry The Youth, of all Racial Groups these days, as most Public Transport journeys in Londonwill testify (which the complainant fails to realise)....sigh... They, obviously, do not move in these circles as much as I do. Now I was brought up to say "Countryside" so, on balance, THAT is the word I should have used, so Countryside it is.... p.s. Sorry it was such a mission to get to that stage KK...:))
  7. Three Southwark stabbings 'linked' Thursday, 16 April 2009 There were three stabbings in one evening By Jenny Clover COPS investigating three vicious stabbings of young men in one evening think the attacks could be linked. Two men were left with serious stab wounds after three separate attacks around Southwark last Tuesday. In the first incident, an 18-year-old man was chased by a group of men on bikes and attacked at 6.50pm in Harmony Place, Willow Walk, Bermondsey. He was rushed to hospital and had to undergo emergency surgery for his injuries. Later that evening, a man in his late 20s was stabbed in Cronin Street, Peckham, at 9.30pm. He also suffered serious injuries and had to have emergency surgery at hospital. Both are now in a stable condition. The last attack happened just after the second in nearby Chandler Way, Peckham, when a man in his late 20s was stabbed. Silly suggestion, I'm fully aware, and I realise its not important at all, but couldn't Southwark concentrate more energy in liaison with The Police to try to curb this instead?
  8. Can we hear Quidsy's joke for a third time as I missed it on both previous occassions? Quidsy, your platform awaits....:)

Morning H. 11. Have to say you have dug up another "gem" AFN...how did you know about that amazing clip?.. Wave after wave after wave of Naples Supporters, every single one of them Male, it appearred....literally thousands I should think.... Don't think I'LL be inviting them over to meet Mother for Tea and English Muffins....:( A must see for anyone who wants to capture the "flavour" of what some English Cities had to endure in their unprepared state back in the day...

  13. The perfect "Day" has just, officially, ended. Woke up early and saw a Duck sitting in the middle of my lawn (a first in 25 years, even though a 180acre Park complete wuth Lake is 75 yards away). To my delight there was a Duck and Drake sitting contently together, next door, and I took some pictures. I saw the Lady next door smiling at me, as she was witnessing the same. "Our" Duck was feeling like a Gooseberry, poor thing... Then we had a great day out in The Country, despite the weather, visiting an excellent Country hostelry and I returned to Win some filthy lucre on-line. Took the Dogs for a great walk and we bumped into other owners and went round in a Westie "Pack" and not one of the dogs wanted to go home. Manwhile, Ladyfriend cooked the rare "feast" of Seafood that I randomly bought, including various types of fish that I had not had for years. Delicious. Off to West London to the Casino and we had a good, enjoyable and successful night where you are even "allowed" to park on the Double Yellow Lines right outside the place, opposite The Natural History Museum in South Kensington in Cromwell Road. 35 minutes to drive home to Kent and not ready to go to bed just yet.... Screw The "Good Old Dayz"..."2009" is where its at, you get me ....:)-D Here's to the next one.... When was your last perfect day in this Country?

  17. I am home in heaven dear ones, oh so happy and so bright. There is perfect joy and beauty, in this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, every restless yearning past. I am now at peace forever, safely home in heaven at last. Dear ones, do not grieve so sorely, for I love you dearly still. Try to look beyond earth's shadow, pray to trust our father's will. There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idly stand. When the work is all completed, He will gently call you home. Oh, the rapture of that meeting! Oh, the joy to see you come! Wonderful wit and raconteur amongst a myriad of other attributes. Another Great Brit, sadly leaves us..... Sir Clement Raphael Freud R.I.P.

  25. I'm in favour of everyone using the "Bus Lane" so I'll sign, even though I'm not keen on Bikes, tbh. One collided with me on Blackheath Hill when I knocked him over as I was with mi julie who I was taking back to mi yard. It costs me 5/6 mins to convince him to put it down to experience and mi fly girl julie was flexing, giving me screwface..
