SeanMacGabhann Wrote: recognise the challenge ahead, pay up and get on with it..... Absolutely spot on! Work hard! Pay your taxes and ruddy well deal with it, please Guys.... Neither National or Local Government has any money of its own and needs your full support to maintain our glorious NHS, our marvellous Welfare State and Benefit System and to keep an increasing percentage of us in the Pensions and dotage that we deserve. Every Man and Woman should rise up and do their duty for this wonderful Nation of ours, that I. for one, am proud to be a part of.. (puffs out chest in patriotic pride)... Now if you would, knidly, excuse me I have a garden to tend to b4 taking the g/f and dogs for a walk b4 I enjoy a well-earned day out with my "Zones 1-4" Day Pass to get me around our great Metropolis...

Manuka Honey - is it value for money?

Sounds like a rip-off. Don't get stung M8... -
Start with a few days in Leysdown and for a complete change of mood and scenery I would suggest trying a few days in Mrs Shepherd's Bed and Breakfast Establishment in Clacton, which I last visited with my Parents in 1964. Hopefully the cobwebs and kettle lying on the stairs will have gone over the last 45 years. Let me know if you want further details. I understand there are still a few seasonal vacancies, if you are quick.

Your Thoughts On Garden Fence Partitioning....
Tony.London Suburbs replied to Tony.London Suburbs's topic in The Lounge
My Lithuianian neighbours and I have reached a compromise, whereby we retain the 2 6 ft panels nearest the back of the houses and have converted a third one to be 6 ft additionally. The middle 4 Panels will still be 4 ft. and the last 3 panels, surrounding the Summer House he has built for his 18-year-old Son at the bottom of his Garden, will be 6 ft. Its actually my call as its the "right" hand side of my Garden (which in my road, at least ) means its my responsibilty. This way we both get sufficient privacy but we still have the middle section to engage with each other and we do not feel "imprisoned". Fortunately, the neighbours on my left-hand side have always been very friendly and have a 4 ft. fence only so I was probably one of the few houses to be completely in the open, which is my preference. -

I don't intend going anywhere, for one. The'll have to drag me out kickin' and screamin'......and anyway we've just finished off the garden fencing so it would be MOST inconvenient at this present time... -

In your Garden would you choose to have 6 foot fences on all sides so that you are completely enclosed and, effectively, cut off from your neighbours, or would you choose to have a smaller 4 feet Wall or smaller 4 feet fences where you can still see and chat to each other when you both want to? This assumes reasonable neighbours and its for everyone, irrespective of their current accommodation. Interested as I feel we may get a variety of views here. What would your reasoning/reasons be for your decision Guys?

Sorry to hear that RobF. Feeling of helplessness I don't like. I went to Peckham and in Rye Lane, very near McDonalds there was a Youth, not listening to music, who wouldn't let anyone pass as he covered most of his side of the pavement while strutting around and then tossed a bottle to the side of the pavement when there was a bin 15 yards away and I didn't say anything and he was on his own. Should have said something and I'm not known around there but decided it wasn't worth it but I know that the more unchallenged these Guys get the bolder they become...

Either I am psychic or there is some substance in what I am saying: Loiusiana: 5.36 PM...... call BT fault reporting. This too is 0800 only. Same story. I stupidly make choice '1' on the menu tree, which is for 'I cannot make or receive calls' (I cannot make or receive calls and there is no carrier signal). Little did I know that this is a cul-de-sac where it is impossible to speak to a human being, only to pre-recorded material. At premium rates. It takes me some time to figure out that to speak to a human, I have to lie and say my phone is working. Go figure. I finally get through to a human -

SeanMacGabhann Wrote: It is great but I wouldn't say it's the "most amazing experience" It is when you are used to dealing with a large number of organisations, all or nearly all of whom, have all the latest phone paraphenalia complete with state-of-the-art "Bells and Whistles" and you spend ages actually getting thru' to the person that you want to, or never, in the case of BT, unless you are a new, potential customer..
