Parliament may need dissolving.....seriously
Tony.London Suburbs replied to AllforNun's topic in The Lounge
To be a decent Sports Minister its absolutely essential to set ones stall out, as frequently as humanly possible. They may be fine, upstanding, competent Guys but I would rid any Cabinet of any West Ham Fans (MP/Quidsy et al) as I still carry a grudge for them wrecking Harry Crippsy's Testimonial Night 25/30 years ago by beating The Lions and causing general mayhem all around New Cross that evening....:X -

A Few months time and I'll wrap my Rock and Chips in these papers, mentioning long-forgotten "issues". 2010 and this will be history, apart from this damaging the current Government more, who will, also, soon,be history....(tu) -

Insurance Industry is legalised theft. You are usually only insured for things that can't happen.:)) Worked with L And G,Pru, Zurich, Royal Sun Allon, Commercial Union, Norwich Union, Pearl and various others in the 1970's.. If they can wriggle out of something they will find all the small print imaginable to do so. Not a fan...B)

Joanna Lumley is a quintessentially perfect English Rose (I know her antecedendency) and, as such, is beyond reproach and, most certainly, beyond any criticism.

I find humility an attractive quality, as well. So Ladies if you could all be just a bit more humile, it would all be fine and dandy....

True Mike but these vicious Gangsters (and they were) really did cause problems (mainly) to people who chose to get involved in "their" World and there's no honour amongst the criminal element. ....but they made it perfectly clear that if any Woman or Child or Old Person who were simply a Member Of The Public were abused in their considerable "Manor" that they would have them to deal with and this seemed to keep any potential robber/mugger well away, harsh but it worked, though not terribly "PC"...:))

Bygone Era! Ah! The heart of London Town in The 1950's/60's...Pea-Souper Fogs where you could only see 5 feet in front of you and.........no street robberies. True Or False...True! The Newspaper Man in East Lane Market/Walworth Road Junction would, simply, leave a pile of papers and trust everyone to pay for them in the containers provided and only appearred himself at the end of the day to collect the remaining papers and his daily take. True or False? True! Southwark Council (and other Councils') Rent Collectors walking round with the equivalent of ?1,000 + on them to collect the weekly rent from their Council Tenants..True Or False? True! People using Public Phones and being so aware of the next person that they would, invariably, shorten their conversation. True Or False? True! People ALWAYS queueing at Bus Stops in an orderly fashion for their Route-Masters? True Or False? True! Motorists acknowledging a courtesy on the road? True Or False? True (90%).. Pedestrians thanking you for stopping at lights? True Or False? True! Two strangers step on each others toes and the Guy who has been trodden on immediately apologising? True Or False? True! Luckily all that old-fashioned nonsense has gone and its every Man for himself and blow those less able to stand up for themselves...Progress, Innit....

Are you seriously telling me that if we were work colleagues or (horror of horrors B)) actual neighbours, that you would not be enraptured, enthralled, enchanted and entertained by my enthusiasm and effortless efferescence? Equally, that I would not, in time, be attracted to your unique style, which has been evident in your contributions to this fine fora, thus far? I "suspect" that, eventually, we would be more than just good friends and acquaintances, but, alas and alac, that will never happen in this particular lifetime...there's always the next one, though...>:D< p.s. When I say that I efferesce I do NOT mean that I emit small bubbles of gas on a regular basis....:))
