  4. lamarr was a prick. i went to a few of the live recordings when he was the host and his crass attempts at humour were limited to taking the piss out of disabled people. i gave him the benefit of the doubt and went to another one and it was just more of the same, cheap laughs. as for jupitus ,the most unfunny person in comedy, at least having amstel in the hot seat gives him the chance to remove his tongue from up lamarrs hole.
  5. i don,t go as much as i used to, thats kids for you, but very sad to here the news. had some great times in springers great food, wines and the lovely bistro type feel to the place. hope the new owners can replicate the same atmosphere.
  6. keef i,m with you on this one. there,s obviously two opposing sides and the driver is getting as fair bit of stick for punching the cyclist, but is seems to me that every one is conveniently over looking the point that prior to geting punched( and for anyone looking for examples of violence being turned into humourous situations see the films of mr. tarantino) he in the words of the original poster "kicked in the front doors of the bus". maybe i was brought up differently to the rest of you all but in my eyes thats more that justification for responding in kind. someone riding alongside shouting and banging your bus, then kicking in the doors, whats he going to do next.......seems to me theres a certain degree of self-defence involved here on behalf of the driver, negate the threat, then get the hell out of there. but no he,s a bus driver, the other guys a cyclist so in the eyes of the self-rightous ed ,ers the drivers guilty.case dismissed.
  7. the fact of the matter is, no-one apart from the two main protagonists actually knows what went on however it more than likely is a simple case of road rage that got out of hand. i am in no way defending the drivers actions nor that of the cyclist but i have enough experience of travelling in london on public transport to be aware that there is a certain element of bus drivers who have a distinct lack of regard for the their passengers and other road users, on the other hand there is also a certain element of other road users who have the same attitude and for me the worse offenders are cyclists. i am aware they are particulary vunerable but they appear to have the attitude they are holier than thou and that anyone who gets in their way is fair game. to be brutally honest and yes ok i didn,t witness it but to suggest that a bus driver tried to run a cyclist off the road is a wee bit ott even for a bus driver. and again while i am not condoning the drivers actions if someone kicked in the door of my vehicle i would feel more than justified in knocking their block off.
  8. here we go again the old ed bandwagon, if it involves a bus it must be the drivers fault. i suggest you all re-read the original post and pay particular attention to the following, "not sure what happened to spark the incident", "a bicyclist began hitting the bus and shouting at the driver" "my assumption is the driver may have cut off the cyclist but i didn,t see it" "the cyclist became more upset and continued yelling and hitting the bus" "he kicked in the front door of the bus" as opposed to, "the driver tried to run him into the kerb", "physically attacked the cyclist punching him in the face and knocking him to the ground" i know where my finger,s pointing.
  9. I,ve noticed no real difference. I don,t live near Goose Green.

    mmmm - the euro

  21. i doubt you,d be able to go down the criminal damage route, as you would have to be able to prove the other driver was acting in an intentional or reckless manner, you wouldn,t even be able to report her for leaving the scene of an accident, as technically she didn,t, as by your own admission you both looked at the car and there was no visible damage. without her number, theres not going to be a great deal you will be able to do, and even with it, its one word against the other, and judging by her original attitude i doubt you would get much joy. put it down to experience and park like i do in the furthest corner of sainsbos, and even then some prick will still park beside me even though theres 20 spaces in either direction.
  22. watching the ladies skeleton racing on eurosport this morning, one of the american racers, obviously a bit of a tree-hugger, had a message emblazoned on her board, "save a tree, eat a beaver". when she consequently took the lead, someone congratulated her to which she promptly replied "must be all that beaver i ate". "i won,t even go there" quipped the commentator.
