  1. Found a great picture here.
  2. > Get real - everyone has a choice. Not me, Mamora Man. This week I can't spare ?15 from my pension for a cup of tea and a sandwich.
  3. This is begining to sound like an East Dulwich equivalent of a witch-hunt.
  4. It looks to me that the heat-loss through Foxtons' new windows is likely to cancel out the work of East Dulwich SNUB at one stroke. Is there a civil engineer here who can do the calculation?
  5. > I will happily tell you everything I've heard next time I see anyone! The EDF inner circle who share their secrets?
  6. Full quote: "On a separate note, I have begun to hear from good sources a lot of things I don?t like the sound of. And its nothing to do with drug-users." Separate note - new thread.
  7. I would like to know what Ko was writing about too. There's a wealth of local knowledge on the East Dulwich Forum and it should be possible to find out whether the things Ko has heard about are true.
  8. So says Ko. Is Southwark Council planning something new for East Dulwich?
  9. > (btw, imho DDA legislation dos not just apply to the ambulantly disabled!) This refers to the surprising threshold?
  10. > Oh and they also work generally work 6 days a week, 9 hours a day before even starting on their evening viewings. I wasn't aware that estate agents could exercise derogation under the European Working Hours Directive.
  11. I like the St Francis Road area too. It's lost its stigma now too. It must be over 25 years since I heard anyone refer to it by its former name: Constance Road. No fear and dread anymore.
  12. There should be no worry about the spiral staircase. It is extremely unlikely that an eating establishment would have one without full compliance with the regulations.
  13. I looked in quite a few estate agents' windows today. Where have all the SOLD, SALE AGREED, and UNDER OFFER stickers gone?
  14. Say no to unwanted balloons.
  15. Let us hope that their landlord does not find out.
  16. Some of us have been living here since before 15 February 1971.
  17. The original posting was about "drug users" the sands have now shifted to inadequate consultation. > There is concern that this will attract drug users to the area, affecting safety (particularly at night) and leading to an increase in anti-social incidents. Others areas which have had pharmacies with similar services opened, have seen a rise in drug addicts present, used syringes discarded on to the streets and trouble caused by the people present.
  18. > they select from "three diffferent ability levels" (or claim to). This is not an unusual selection criterion - an attempt to maintain a community school of mixed ability.
  19. > Oh dear, the backlash has begun. Nero Or local people have reviewed their expenditure priorities and expectations of value for money in the light of the change in the economic climate.
  20. Not an anonymous building, but a building with secret responsibilities... I understand that High Wood was part of a chain of buildings that would be used if London came under nuclear threat/attack. The military were to use it as a base for their operations to put a cordon around central London to stop the civil population fleeing. I believe there is further information in this book: "London Under Attack : the report of the Greater London Area War Risk Study" I though it a little optimistic to expect that the military wouldn't try to leave London too.
  21. > BARA has spoken Some first person plurals too. Who is writing?
  22. A 100 hour pharmacy will be a useful additional service for East Dulwich.
  23. Did this go anywhere?
  24. I think I'm having my leg pulled. A friend has told me that 10,000 polythene bags have a smaller carbon footprint than one cloth bag. Can someone point me in the direction of accurate information? Thank you.
