  1. I was lucky enough to see a double rainbow from Greenwich Park yesterday. Stunning. Keef, didn't you mean that you've "invested " many a pot of gold in that place.
  2. Lovely welcome to the new week for us cyclists. First thing Monday morning; blustery wind, squally rain, freezing cold. Nearing my workplace laughed to myself that at least I hadn't been flapped in the face with a wet leaf when, you guessed, I was. Nice.
  3. Matt: sensational. Key to it is the clarity of voice at low volumes. Tillie, you can't have him, I swooned already.
  4. What really gets me in this whole children parking spaces issue is the way that in that email the Customer Manager at JS keeps refering to the Store Manager as Andy. Mr Dalitis, surely?

    The Shard

I was there yesterday, on the footbridge between London Bridge Station and Guy's. As part of the Big Draw festival, some of the design team for the building were there talking about the building and drawing with members of the public.
  6. I would so be in for this. Loved Phoenix last time, agree that it was one of the best drinks. But, Mrs Citizen is already booked out that night, so unless I can do some re-organisation I cannot promise the 6.30 slot, Sean. I'll get my people onto it.
  7. Yep, got the agreement and after a little snigger at the playschool linguistics I, naturally, signed. Everone you generally agrees with the main thrust of such a thing ought to sign. As has been pointed out there is no legal side to it. It's helpful for the school to know who are the supportive parents and which of their students are going to struggle due to the negative attitude of their parents.
  8. Guardian Pint of milk Cup of tea Two ice lollies Packet of biscuits Tank of petrol Coke....
  9. I saw the strings last week.
  10. I had a dip in the rejuvenated pool on Sunday. Floating on my back looking up at that gorgeous ceiling was something special. Loved it. Walked to the pool, swam, had a coffee, walked home. What's not to like?
  11. I have never seen Top Gear.
  12. Hey, where the scott joplin was my invite?
  13. I like people from the Black Country. Down to earth and dead friendly. I like Arty Farty Liberal types.
  14. Hey, km1, you having a barbeque and not extending the invite over this way! Hmmmph.
  15. Been listening to Kings and Queens by Jamie T. Scintillating.
  16. Tracy Chapman wrote "Fast Car" when she was sixteen.
  17. Sad. I thought jrussell's musings were on par with those of his brother, Bertrand.
  18. I loved her first album and think Fast Car is a brilliant song on par with Springsteen's ballards. Might give the link a listen.
  19. Problems with the lauded Cycle-to-Work Scheme. BBC Link
  20. After the concrete, the silverware, *Bob*? Then shining up the square plates.
  21. Brendan, a dad! Gadzooks. I saw him yesterday, bottle of wine in hand, middle of the afternoon.
  22. Looks like the improvements at Goose Green were made just in time. Hundreds of playground schemes mothballed
  23. Yep. these are a real godsend. Both ours were on them around 2 and have loved them. They are very high in the "best value for money" lists in our household.
  24. Nice one Keef - hope you got a few copies of it, hand it out to your mum and the in-laws, like. We got the nod once to say that there was a picture of our first born in the Horniman "What's On Guide". we dashed to get a copy, flicked through and were soon staring at a darling picture of a cute little cherub illustrating the Storytelling sessions. Alas, the blue eyed, tousle-haired blond boy in centre stage was not ours - but if you carefully searched up in the top left was a brown blur. That was him.
  25. Think you made a good choice F. I on the other hand stayed in during the morning and then headed up to the Horniman for their play afternoon - and walked straight into a sharp shower. Meant that the Horniman events, whilst good were a bit damp. And it was tube train packed!
