  1. How about registering at and then using your local library. How about buying milk from a milkman. What about organising a street party in the Summer.
  2. To be fair though, "our community" might be meant in the general sense of our communities, and not specifically East Dulwich. It's a valid question. I'd say, get out your car and walk to your local shops, say hello to everyone you see on the streets whether they are young, old, black, white, and especially if they are not like you.
  3. I live up that end and pass the place quite frequently. When I see people outside I generally say "hello".
  4. OK the OP was a little injudicious in the second clause of her post but I think some are being less generous... If she had said "I'm getting really fed up with these people that have stop overs in this hostel/accommodation at the end of barry road, On my way home from work I have been called at and whistled at on numerous occassions and made to feel really uncomfortable,..." I wonder what the response would have been?
  5. So, March 4th? (because I lied and I do live in a hideous dominated-by-the-diary life. Spontenious Joe.)
  6. I should be there Weegee. Thanks for arranging. On that score, are you planning to do the second Fri of the month for all the drinks? Not that I live a horribly diary regulated life or anything you understand, but just out of curiousity.
  7. ANdy Coulson lives on Wood Vale, or Andy Coulson is staying in Wood Vale?
  8. I bought a pair of trainers recently. On the box it said, "Average contents; 2"
  9. Is Arshavin turning out to be for us what Thomas Brolin was for Leeds?
  10. That's why you shouldn't walk down the stairs during an Arsenal match, Keef. If Leeds win I'm blaming you.
  11. "Rubbish, I can be whatever I want to be... " Oh, you were quoting your pretend age. Sorry.
  12. Hibbs, you can't be 8. and Terri can't be 9. EDlurker is a maybe and mr Georgia is another possible. You could be 6. and Terri 7. That is if Mrs CitizenED can find her way there of course.
  13. I'm liking the "15 Minutes of Loving Movement (exercise)"...
  14. Mrs Citizen Which one is the Dulwich Tandoori Michael? Remind me.
  15. I like to invite people round because it is the guaranteed way of ensuring that we get to tidy up. Have to say that the tidiness of the house seems to reflect more on the woman than it does on a man. Always think that is so unfair on Mrs CitED and all women. Seems to be born out by this recent Mumsnet survey. Here
  16. PeckhamRose, I always love photos of London and the skyline. But, that first one, with the beast (and the dog) is an absolute classic! Brilliant.
  17. My better half is intending to make this one.
  18. I'm sitting here with a beer, and a huge smile on my face having read this thread. I'm looking beyond my computer into the room where I can see little piles of toys , toys I had planned to take upstairs earlier this evening but that now look like they are ready for instant play when the boys get up in the morning. By the side of the sofa is the vacuum cleaner. I brought it in here earlier in the vain hope of running it round once I'd put the boys to bed. Another chore for the morning, I think, if the kids aren't already using it as a plaything. In the kitchen the there are dishes on the drainer, waiting to be put away. I'll use them for breakfast... and so it goes on. Can't help giggling at the Pebbles/Pickle scenario; that must happen all the time.
  19. I've not read it but would love to. I'm a sucker for anything that name-checks my locality. I'll see if I can pick up a copy.
  20. There are several threads on here about Au Pairs that might be of help. One here. Use the search box in the top right hand corner of this site to find more. Good Luck
  21. I thought that once pregnant, your cycle stopped.
  22. Annette Curtain has made some entrance to the forum; first part of second line made me chuckle. "Also, I'm out on the raz on Saturday with a few friends, any pointers would be great. I can handle the odd cock but would rather avoid a whole room full of d*ckheads."
  23. this thread has hit 50 posts, he'll be hovering and waiting to pounce when it gets to 99.
  24. I propose two parties. One to celebrate the wedding, the other just for the hell of it.
