  1. Sorry to hear the bad news as well Atila. Just come back from The Vale - I know 5-0 doesn't sound good but West Brom play a particularly loose form of football that deserves to be trounced by just about everybody in the Premiership so I wouldn't read too much into this result. Rob Styles gave a red card when it was 1-0 to the West Brom captain which didn't help but then neither did Ji-Sung Park squealing like a pig.. As for tomorrow the Landlord of The Vale told me, as I exited the premises, that Liverpool were a priority for tomorrow night - so I think we can take it as red [sic] that Wigan v Liverpool will be the LIVE match at The Vale tomorrow night, KO 7.45pm.
  2. The Vale may also be showing the Pompey game (on Sky) - as in the past they've not been shy in showing Liverpool, Chelsea and Celtic games all on same night in Champions League
  3. Robin Smith
  4. The landlord told me he'd try to show both Liverpool and Arsenal games if he could - but he did say he had a preference for watching Liverpool lose... I guess we won't know for sure until tomorrow, but I'll be going down there to watch United tonight so may garner some more information.
  5. Graeme Hick
  6. DPF is correct - Wigan, both legs of a 2nd round League Cup clash between Wigan and Liverpool were played at Anfield.
  7. BREAKING NEWS: The Vale is showing the West Brom v Man United game live tonight - and most probably Wigan v Liverpool live tomorrow night - neither of which is on Sky or Setanta
  8. Didn't Yasser Arafat once threaten to announce the independence of the West Bank but Israel would not tolerate it so he never carried through his threat? Anyway, I think a 3 country solution - Gaza, West Bank and Israel - will be the only sustainable answer to the problems as there are too many hot heads on both sides who want only their hands on the steering wheel. Don't worry about the economics of it all as the Yanks can prop it up as they have done with Israel.
  9. Here is a clue... they only used Anfield once as a home venue when they lost to a Steve Staunton hat-trick..
  10. I've re-read the original post. Nothing wrong with individual bits like he had a suitcase and paid a compliment, but the sum of the parts really does have lunatic written all over it. What goes through the head of someone who carries out such an act in a busy part of SE22.. what next will go through his head in later, more discreet surroundings.. Let the police build up a profile of this character. There are more serious crimes than this but neither is this some petty incident that should be accepted because it's in big, bad London where you should be happy to wake up in the morning without your throat being slit.
  11. Think it's 5 live games in 5th round - 2 on ITV and 3 on Setanta
  12. Man Utd is correct - one more to go..
  13. Used go to a JDW (the Metropolitan Bar) after work on Marylebone Road next to Baker Street tube and that was pretty plush, 30 foot high ceilings, 40 foot long bar, rapid service and acres of floor space ... but you knew it was a JDW by the microwaved lunchtime food... but other than that is was a good JDW! It would only take one bar on LL to drive the prices down - a Bottle Bar at the old Osborne Stewart at ?1.50 a pop would soon bring likes of EDT into line!
  14. Oh yes Declan, just read the small print! Anyway I've started so I'll finish, the clue, both clubs currently reside in the Premiership
  15. Sorry just clubs - so Everton is one, two to go. BTW, Wales also played Scotland at Anfield in a World Cup qualifier in 1977 - which involved the infamous hand ball by Scotland's Joe Jordan.
  16. Another question, besides Liverpool which other 3 professional football clubs have used Anfield as a Home venue?
  17. The Moon - LOL, very good!
  18. Wow, just had a look up into the stars! What a sight particularly in the southernly direction, so many stars some brighter than others and maybe the odd aeroplane thrown in for good measure - but saw nothing that looked like a planet but definately worth a look!
  19. Setanta Sports have the Tuesday night match live from the Emirates. Someone did send me an email offering 2 tickets for ?45 each... no thanks, I need the money to visit Goodison the next night! BTW, on the off chance there are any bitter Blues, sorry I mean Evertonian brothers ;-) who are going to that match from south London, please let me know as I need a lift!
  20. Football Focus has been locked down - so in keeping with the times I've named the new thread after the ITV equivalent from back in the day - On the Ball. Arsenal v Cardiff Everton v Liverpool are the 2 live FA Cup replays being played on the Tuesday and Wednesday by Setanta and ITV respectively.
  21. Why the hell are Manchester United playing West Brom tomorrow night and not on Wednesday like Everton - it gives United 24 hours longer to prepare than their Evertonian brothers who they face on the weekend.
  22. Too easy!
  23. Steven Gerrard was correct: Which 3 ex-England captains all played for Scunthorpe United?
